Eating a cup of yogurt a day may lower your risk of developing lung cancer, a new study suggests.

Researchers found that those who ate a daily serving of yogurt lowered their risk of the disease by 20 percent compared to those who did not eat yogurt every day.

And people who ate a serving of yogurt a day - along with a high fiber diet - were able to lower their risk of lung cancer by more than 30 percent.

Studies have shown some probiotics, live bacteria found in yogurt, have anti-inflammatory and cancer-fighting properties.

The team, from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, says its findings show that consuming dairy shouldn't be discouraged - and that a reexamination of the potential benefits of dairy is needed.

Naturally fermented sour kraut or kimchee is a super pro biotic, mix it with sour cream to boost the acidophilus and eat with chips. One bite has more probiotics than a handful of pills.

Acidophilus is the primary fermenter in sour krauts and yogurts. But vegetable fermentation contain buku enzymes along with other pro biotics.

No. Stuff at store, in jars, has been heated for packing. Takes out all of the probiotics.

Look for raw sauerkraut in the cold section of deli area.

Or, make your own with a crock fermenter.

Then just sit tight. In a few months, there’ll be a new study that says eating yogurt causes some cancer of some place and you’ll be soooooooo far ahead of the curve you’ll be immortal.

Until the next study, that is. :D

Another big thing in fighting cancer are anti-parasitic drugs such as a dog de-wormer, Panacur C. It kills the gut parasites that impede the gut biome, which enhances the body’s ability to reject cancer. Yes, many people take it.

The yogurt then has free reign to grow.

Been taking a probiotic for years. The type that makes it past the stomach (important).

The trouble with yogurt is the all the sugar. My probiotic has ZERO sugar.

It’s easy to make your own. Heat a gallon of milk to just short of boiling, then let it cool down to bathwater temperature. Stir in a dollop of yogurt from the store (or your previous batch). Put it in a warm bath overnight. We use a cooler with a few inches of hot water in the bottom. In the morning, it’s yogurt. If you have an Instant Pot, it’s even easier.

I really hate most yogurt, but I have to admit that weight loss and blood sugar goes better when I eat it, so I have bought full-fat yogurt recently, add my own vanilla and stevia, and eat it with fruit, nuts and some kind of cereal, crumbled cookies or whatever might be good as a junk carb “garnish” on top. Yum!

I asked my doctor, a real doctor with an MD, if there were any nutritional supplements or vitamins that would reduce my risk of cancer. He said “there is nothing proven” and if there were he would prescribe it.

I eat FAGE zero fat, no added sugar yogurt every morning.
it has more protein/serving than any other brand. It is made in NY State and Greece.

I put blueberries on it. Fresh in season or frozen in the winter.

I do not buy the yogurt with the berries mixed in at the bottom. That has too much sugar.

That would require FDA approval.

If you have had someone in the family die of lung cancer ( I Have and it is horrible) then it doesn’t hurt to try it.

Sugar free is a con. Almost all fat chicks drink DIET (sugar free) soda. How’s that workin’ out?

Stay away from “sugar free” anything! That stuff will kill you!

Why ask your doctor when their are 10 million recommendations for supplements on the internet!
