Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has been hospitalized after breaking his pelvis during a fall at his home in Georgia just weeks after a similar accident left him with heavy facial bruising and 14 stitches.

The 95-year-old suffered a 'minor pelvic fracture' on Monday following the incident at his home in Plains.

Carter, who is the nation's oldest living president, was admitted to the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center for treatment.

A statement from The Carter Center said the former President remains in good spirits and looks forward to recovering at home.

Reagan fell and broke his hip shortly before he passed, as I recall.

You would think his cancer bout....and miraculous treatment, that he received in ISRAEL, would've knocked some sense in to him. 🤷‍♀️

On the opposite side, most reports of Republicans show them as being extremely friendly and gracious to ordinary people.

Part of the problem is far, far too many people put politicians on a pedestal they don't deserve and then act as if they are anything but an ordinary person. It's the same with the Hollyweird types. At best most are C- students who couldn't make it in private sector. (and it shows) In the immortal words of my momma "They put their pants on one leg at a time just like everybody else". When we stop putting them on a pedestal and start making them earn it I doubt there will be many with Mondull's elitist snobbery.

“My understanding is that he doesn’t like the notoriety that comes with being a former president.”

When having to glad-hand the little people, or being fawned over by bad actors around the world as some kind of genius peacemaker?

He will probably drive that place into economic ruin too.

Carter, who is the nation's oldest living president,"

But George Washington is still our oldest non-living president. Maybe they should say that Carter is the nation's oldest former president. The "living" part goes without saying.

Now that I have my smart-aleck comment in, I have to say I have a soft spot for the old-timers, and it's always sad to see one go out like this.

Don’t forget that he also would not allow the playing of “Hail to the Chief” when he attended any public events.

Reagan reversed that on day one.

My wife’s mother, who was 90, was doing very well until a couple of months ago she didn’t use her walker and she fell. Her funeral was two weeks ago.

At that age, any fall can be deadly. In her case she hit her head and the hung on for a couple of weeks going in and out of consciousness. They put her on DNR (Do Not Resuscitate. I suppose that is never an option for an ex-president.

Kinda reminds me of an old Science Fiction story where people bought “death insurance”. It insured that if you died, you stayed dead. :)

Not entirely. He went into corrupting nonprofits and has meddled in middle East foreign affairs, and gave rise to radical Muslim groups in the US. He hadn’t been public, but he has been active against the US.

Once more into the breach

The ruination this boob caused when he pResided
was epic, politically and economically

Even long into his golden years he was
bamboozled by Kim Jong Mentally Il and
Chavez

Don’t let the rebuilding houses charity
cover his willful downing of our nation

Our parish (county) phone bank was jubilant that night. One of the happiest days of my life, ranking up there with Trump’s election and my daughter’s birth.

Part of the problem with being a president is that he is subject to "celebrity health care". One gets injured, and hordes of "doctors" who are out to become famous as a healer descend, each waving some quack nostrum.

There are fifty pill rollers, at this instant, in their cars or buying life flights to Georgia. Each with some crank idea of how to "cure" Jimmy.

When Garfield was shot, over 70 doctors examined him, poking their filthy fingers into the bullet holes. It took him weeks to die of the infections. One was Alexander Graham Bell, with his idea of a primitive metal detector. (He claimed it didn't work because they wouldn't move the President off the bed springs, which confused his readings.)

Jimmy is doomed.
