ENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) A Pensacola woman accused of forcing her husband to sign divorce papers at gunpoint was arrested Friday.
Millanie Sherbrook, 45, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill.
An Escambia County Sheriffs Office arrest report says Sherbrook and her husband were arguing over divorce on Oct. 11. When the man refused to sign the papers and stated he would rather handle it in court, deputies said Sherbrook grabbed a Smith and Wesson .38-caliber handgun, pointed it at her husband, followed him and told him to sign the papers.
The man eventually gave in to Sherbrooks commands and signed the papers, deputies said.
Sherbrook continued to follow the man with the gun, the report said, so he called law enforcement.
He told deputies he feared his wife because she is a good shooter.
Sherbrook was arrested. She remains in the Escambia County jail without bond.
Guilty
She sounds like a firecracker.
“accused of forcing her husband to sign divorce papers at gunpoint “
Sounds like he didn’t want the divorce....though I don’t know why
He should have signed the papers if she signed a paper to never see, call or contact him again!
She wouldn’t have needed a gun to get me to sign. Good riddance to . . .firecrackers.
Classic panhandle Florida (or Alabama)!
My grandmother (from Alabama) was a damn good shot herself and nobody ever messed with her. If my grandfather came home drunk, he knew to just sleep in the barn.
Ok we need more info, was she asking for more than the house , the kids, the car, his precious moments collection, and 3/4 if his paycheck for the next 18 years? Otherwise i wish all divorces were this easy...
Sounds like she drew up the papers and kept the double-wide, the commemerative NASCAR plate collection and all the Zima for herself.
Think of all the money saved on divorce lawyers! Sure, that money saved will now be spent on a criminal defense attorney
Wouldn’t need a gun on me!.......
So I guess a trial separation was out of the question. And the counselor’s office will need a metal detector or payment will not be required.
rwood
She wouldn’t have had to ask me twice...
“Lay that pistol down, babe/lay that pistol down/ pistol packin’ mama, lay that pistol down...’’’
With her looks I should think she’d need the pistol to get married.
There is a Winston Churchill quote that fits here nicely.
I’m sure that the man was hesitant because she was making him sign/agree to terms that he wasn’t happy with.
Dude, sign them and RUN! RUN LIKE HELL!!
still, it sounds as if signing was a correct decision for him
So, his signature is nullified due to the extreme duress he was under. Although I imagine he’ll sign willingly next time.
