Long before the women of the Marvel Cinematic Universe joined forces for the epic female scene in Avengers: Endgame, Marvel had expressed interest in an all-women Marvel mashup movie. But after that scene in Endgame, fans have been asking when theyll see the female movie hit theaters.
Now, Brie Larson, one of Varietys Power of Women honorees, confirms to Variety that she, along with her Marvel co-stars, have had talks with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about making that film a reality.
During a sit-down interview at her Power of Women cover shoot, Captain Marvel herself was asked if the female film has been truly discussed among the Marvel brass.
It is something, she said with a pause, then adding, Well what do you mean truly discussed?
Larson was speaking to Variety senior correspondent Elizabeth Wagmeister, who followed up with, You tell me.
I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to Kevin and we were like, We are in this together, we want to do this,' Larson replied. What that means, I have no idea. You know, Im not in charge of the future of Marvel, but it is something that were really passionate about and we love and I feel like if enough people out in the world talk about how much they want it, maybe itll happen.
Feige has previously expressed interest in the female Marvel film, though no firm plans to green light such a project have been set. Marvel, however, is putting emphasis on more female-forward standalone films lately from Larsons Captain Marvel, which grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office earlier this year, and Scarlett Johanssons upcoming Black Widow film, which is due in theaters next year.

Or maybe it's just that all Disney is interested in any more is Queens, Princesses and Fairies.
Fine.
Make a Marvel Comics Universe version of The Women (1939).
Then we can get back to ignoring them.
Now that they have the X-Men back in house there’s a lot of solid female characters to choose from. X-Men always had the best population of female characters.
Actually the Ghostbusters movie was a flop because they spent too much on it. For a comedy it made a lot of money, comedies don’t usually pop past $100 million domestic. If the budget had been smart it would have been profitable.
Yep! They’ve already made dozens of all female cast movies (except for the late Sid Haig) on location in the Philippines.
They can run around naked and I won’t spend $15 to get lectured by comic book MeToo’s.
It would be nice if they consider the audience. Men don’t mind women super heros. Comic books are full of women villains and heros. But they are always super hot. Men put on a muscle bound body suit to play the part of a super hero. Women should do the same.
Hehe, Superman is into FemDom...
Why? Wonder Women is better than all the marvel chicks combined.
Seriously Brie, your character is literally a plot device... boring and uninspired in comic book form, and just as boring and pointless on screen.
Worked so well for ghostbusters.
I cant even fathom what movies will be like 25 years from now. Ill be 75 so hopefully will be clueless on reality.
The former is propaganda, the latter is profiteering.

The ET interview with her, Chris (?) Hemsworth and Don Cheadle is hilarious. She is obviously a pain to deal with, and these three actors let it be known. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81WIkfUAc_o
The Ghostbusters reboot or whatever it was, was a failure before the start....
They have tried to reboot/continue the Ghost Busters for over 3 decades, and it always fell apart because they couldn’t get it right... yet somehow simply going “Hey lets gender bend it” and all the problems just went away??? Sorry, nope.
I am sure the actresses did the best they could with what they were given, but it was just stupid...
“And to steal a title from son of the beach, it can be called Taco Lips Now”
AHHH forgot about that show!!! Where, despite the ‘hip’ idea of the perfect west coast bite, fish tacos were in a discernible context.....
Funny and weird show!

Get woke and go broke.
And there are a number of genuinely interesting Marvel female characters as-yet-unrealized (or poorly realized) in film that they could work on. They’ve got Spider-Woman (the original, not the new single-mother version), She-Hulk, Lots of X-men women (some of who have been given short shrift in previous movies and need proper outings), Alpha Flight, Cloak and Dagger.
Here is the same interview I posted above, but with a Youtuber commenting on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ3CmmUV2eQ
Even apart from mainline characters like Kitty Pride and Jean Grey. I think a Callisto movie could be very interesting, and a proper reboot of Rogue and Mystique would be nice.
