Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder’s patience ran out with Jay Gruden.
Gruden got more time than any other coach under Snyder, but it didn’t pay off. Gruden was fired hours after losing to New England, in the middle of his sixth season after a terrible start to the year. Washington fell to 0-5 after a 33-7 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday. Washington had been outscored by 78 points in its first five games. Gruden was 35-49-1 as Washington’s coach. He’s the first head coach fired this season.

I bet Rush Limbaugh could build a winner if he owned the team, but I digress.
You guys have also had to endure Peter Angelos’ stewardship of the Orioles.

Redskins have lots of many so there is no excuse. Poor management....
He’ll be working in Las Vegas by this time next year, I predict.

Jack Kent Cook loved that team and put together a front office that was good at publicity and a coaching staff that could win.
Prior to living in Richmond, Va in the late 80’s I had no animosity towards the skins. Just didn’t care about them.
Two years of hearing THAT DAMNED SONG (Hail To The Skins) every year and I grew to HATE them.
Still want to throw up when I think about them and that song.
It’s not the talent on the sidelines, it’s the talent on the field........or lack thereof.................
Duh! Like the Skins were supposed to beat the Patriots?!?!?

Snyder fails to realize that he can’t buy a super bowl.
He collects players like a little kid collects toy action figures. The Redskins need a coach who’s going to walk into Snyder’s office and tell him, hey, you want a winning team? Keep your upper office away from the locker room. You concentrate on selling merchandise, and leave the players to me. MY players, MY rules. I train ‘em, I discipline them, and you guys stick to the business side of it. Until the ‘Skins get a coach that can come to that understanding with the upstairs office,and enforce it, they’ll continue to fail.

Imagine getting called into the office at 5am just to get fired. Jay had to know it was coming. I would have just sent a text message calling out sick. Lol.

They sold off everyone of any value and decimated the farm system of promising players. A disgraceful episode in team history, far worse than anything even Dan Snyder would do.
Absolutely correct. What winning coach would want to come to Washington and put up with Snyder’s BS?
