of course i’m too lazy to open the article, but i have had floaters since 14 and they SUCK and I have MANY, to the point that i think it’s insects or even my cat has crossed past the corner of my eye.

But they are benign for me at least, they just suck.

But i’m sure there’s instances when they are appearing for far more nefarious reasons.

My eyes tell me I’m old. They lie. (Sobbing)

the take away from that article for me was to watch for the weird white circle around the iris. I had to look up what it looks like.

The scariest thing ever happened with my eyes is for about 5 years after head injury, one pupil would dilate much larger than the other!!!

It freaked me out but docs said it was no danger, just things a head injury makes happen.

It STOPPED. A lot of things stopped.

WAY AFTER the 2 year window of recovery docs give for head injuries.

several years ago I went to light a cigg, and lost my vision completely- couldn’t even see the lighter’s flame- lasted around 20 seconds, maybe 30- seemed like an eternity- Never did get an answer why- probably an annuerism that made me retarded and i don’t even realize it-

THAT’S TERRIFYING!!

I would bet that a horrific occurrence along these lines happens once in more than a few people.

That HORRIBLE dizziness out of nowhere that lasts for a minute and you spend 100000 dollars and get 35 test for that show nothing. And it never happens again.

My brother couldn’t hear out of his right ear for over an hour once. They did a million tests. nothing. Never happened again.

The body is a strange and still somewhat mysterious thing.

Glad your incident did not come back.

I've got floaties that have gotten a bit worse over the course of my 60 years.

But what really bothers me is the occasional (3-4 times a year) ocular migraine that I get. It starts out as a small A blob of black and white sparkles that grow in size and slowly migrate across my field of vision, then disappears off the edge of my periphery. It's painless, but annoying as it blocks or distorts part of my vision as it goes.

I am told that it's related to the headache migraine, so I guess it's better for me to have this temporary vision thing than a throbbing headache.

I do have floaters at times. It seems that my brain blocks them out most of the time. Rarely do I notice them.

SMH :)

I spent MORE MONEY on stomach evaluations for pain by the time i was 30...I could have put a nice down payment on the house...and nothing ever showed.

That didn’t hold true in my 40s, polyps in colon and barretts in esophagus.

The Barreetts sounds MUCH more risky for cancer than it is.

It puts you at MUCH more risk than the average person, but still relatively low risk.

Maybe all those years before were leading up to it?

who knows how the body works.

Anyway, i follow up and i’m not going anywhere soon :)

Same here. It is called an ocular migraine. I’ve have no pain with mine. Scary as all get out the first time it happened to me. My vision is restored in about 15 minutes.

yeah the barrettes can be a bit risky- just keep testing - So many things can potentially cause cancer-

Stomach ulcers can increase risk too- but only slightly i guess-

[[Anyway, i follow up and i’m not going anywhere soon :)]]

Long Life to you and yours-

caffeinated drink or an accedrin with caffeine when the vision distortion occurs will stop the head aches

In January 2018 I went to an ophthalmologist primarily because of recent significant floaters.

The O told me they were nothing to worry about. I asked about one, particularly large. He said, ‘eventually your brain will ignore it.’

Basically, I ignore it. It does still show up at times, especially when I think about it.
