My eyes tell me I’m old. They lie. (Sobbing)
Just saw an ophthalmologist yesterday. Pleased to learn he was “surprised” how healthy my eyes are. I’m quite old but in good health. Had all kinds of tests I don’t understand that involve staring at a green x and being flashed suddenly with a blindingly bright light. This, after my eyes were dilated and numbed.
The doctor wanted to see to what extent I had cataracts and found that one eye had one small cataract. I can’t believe how difficult it was to get around for the next two hours. Any direct light on my eye was painful. Finally the dilation ended and life resumed.
He also said my eyeball has a small stem, which can sometimes be a precursor to eye problems later in life. So far it has not (fingers crossed). I’ve been near-sighted since I was 10 or 11 years old. Before that I had normal vision.
