Mark Hamill was awfully lucky to be cast in the 1970s as Luke Skywalker. He never really had great acting talent. He was not well-liked nor was he disliked. Why he was chosen is really about youthful boyish looks and low budget bookings, as well as his blond hair, and a tenor voice that could read lines with the right inflection. But there were many others that could do the same but the film industry was in the crap house and there weren't many choices on the meager budget for the first Starwars episode.
Lucas was not established when he did his first Starwars film. He was barely funded, and most of the scene in Hollywood studio lots was of chain link fences closing off access as the industry was taking a dive.
Lucas and Spielberg went to film school together at USC and they were regarded as long haired oddballs with sci-fi ideas. Studio executives looked at them as B-rated film producers begging for anything they could get their hands on.
So Lucas's casting director chose Hamill and Hamill was made famous because the Starwars brand came just at the right time with the reruns of the late 1960s cancelled Startrek TV series brought back with never seen before popularity. After the amazing Moon landings, the country was ripe for escape with sagas of exploring the universe.
Lucas and Hamill just happened to be in right genre at the right time.
Since his success with Starwars, Hamill has fallen flat because as he aged he had no real acting talent to fall back on and his name would only be considered for roles based on nostalgia, not on marketability, not on being the right fit.
So he drifted and has evolved into a first class Hollywood punk.
Kids across the country still are swept up with the original Starwars magic and its stories. The sci-fi fairytale has universal staying power like the 1934 Wizard of Oz. The original Starwars trilogy will always be popular with kids and young people until augmented reality producers recapture it with the latest and greatest technology.
So it's not surprising to see a child don a stormtrooper costume and stomp around proclaiming "The Force be with you!".
But when it's Ivanka Trump's 3-year old on display in the Twitterverse enjoying the fantasy of Starwars, it draws out today's bile of frustrated Hollywood wannabes and has-beens as an opportunity to flush out the constipated brown matter taking up space between their ears.
Mark Hamill is doing evil so that the universe will counter it with good.
According the the last and worthless movie, Skywalker decided that the universe was going to balance itself no matter what. And that the Jedi’s brought evil into the world by doing good.
1. Nobody asked you.
2. Self-promoters need to be discouraged.
Have a great day.
“He has had a successful career as a voice actor”
—
Just about every washed-up celeb has had to resort to “Voice acting” (i.e. “reading”) when their career has gone down the toilet.
He’s not gonna get much mileage out selling autographs as Star Wars conventions, hence the attempts to regain any kind of relevancy by acting children.
You heard of of “Desperate Housewives”? Think “Desperate Celebs” when fame has long ago passed them by.
Hamill is evil and vile like all of hollywood. Glad to see the number of viewers of their award shows getting smaller every year.
The beauty of all this is, you can’t be a has-been if in real life you are a never-were.
Even working girl worked out for Harrison
We know Ford is a liberal, but he actually keeps his mouth shut from what I can tell. I havent had a reason to be mad at him in as long as I can remember.
It is possible to love Star Wars but not the actors who portray the characters. Love the art, not the artist.
I hear he Steals Candy from Kids on Halloween too!!
Effeminate little twerp.
Tonight’s Episode: Poisoned Snow.
Co-starring Clu Gulager.
I liked Batman TAS.
Harrison makes me mad for one reason only.
At age 77, he still flies his private plane (with family members on board) after having several accidents that are likely due to Pilot Error. I would never be among the elite that he would ask me to fly with him, I know, but he seems unwilling to do the right thing and hand his plane keys over to Junior, or maybe to his wife.
Outside of SW, he had become one of the best voice actors of the past 30 years, most notably as the voice of the Joker in the Batman cartoon series.
Which makes this display all the more odious. His image to kids should have made such a thing unthinkable to him.
I guess he really is the loser sucking green milk from a sea slug.
Hamill is a petty little bitch. His career took a dive when he got in a car accident and got his face mangled. They did a decent job of reconstructing it, but afterward his boyish looks were gone. His biggest success has been as voice talent, so he does have some acting skills.. so long as you don’t have to look at him.

Oh, no one can ever take the characters from us.
But the actors can certainly sully the character of them.
Humble, you ever thought about switching to decaf?

He definitely has enough money to hire professional pilots. I would, if I had his money. Two of ‘em.
“Lucas and Spielberg went to film school together at USC”
Spielberg didn’t go to USC. He was too dumb to get in.
He didn’t even go to film school, he went to Long Beach for a bit.
And Lucss had a smash hit with American Graffiti before he made Star Wars.
