Actress Felicity Huffman on Friday was sentenced after she pleaded guilty in a college admissions fraud scandal — and she actually got jail time, 14 days in the clink.
The “Desperate Housewives” appeared in Boston’s federal court, where she reportedly made yet another tearful apology for her actions.“I am deeply ashamed of what I have done. I have inflicted more damage than I could ever imagine,” she said before sentencing.
While prosecutors had recommended the 56-year-old actress serve one month in prison, the judge cut that in half. Prosecutors also called for a $20,000 fine — the judge upped that to $30,000. The judge also gave Huffman 250 hours of community service and a year of supervised release.
Doing jail time by Hollywood standards will enhance her career.
The fine is way too low.
Her daughter is being punished more than the mother. Did the girl ever get accepted? Anywhere?
I am deeply ashamed...of having been caught.

Prosecutors asked for less than what she was fined for.. IMHO she should have gotten more jail time than requested and less of a fine..
That kind of money is trivial to these people.. but time in jail will have far more impact than not being able to buy another designer purse.

I was in jail one time for 32 hours.
It felt like a month.
There are many fine community colleges across the nation.
I was tempted to hop on the subway and go down to the courthouse for this...it might have been fun but,alas,I was too lazy.
It was a non-violent crime. According to Joe Biden, she shouldn’t have to do any time, not even 14 days.
Wonder what they’ll give Lori L. She did defy them.

Maybe she and Martha Steward could do a remake of that old Richard Pryor/Gene Wilder film ‘Stir Crazy’.
She’ll still be able to make the Hollywood Education Charity dinner at the end of the month.
14 days, so she will spend one weekend in jail.
