It’s the fried chicken and potato salad. It doesn’t matter your race, if you are a Baptist in the South you eat fried chicken at church dinners and on Sunday after church. I’m a Baptist and have lived in the South for 50 or my 64 years. I have avoided “fried” though since I was old enough to know how unhealthy it can be. My exception is Okra. I love fried okra if it’s well done.

Ever go into a Golden Corral on a Sunday after church? If you do, you’ll know why they’re obese. My son’s friend worked a stint there while waiting for acceptance to the police academy. He told us they come in after church and stay until dinner and eat again. I asked why they didn’t make them leave as the meal changed and he said corporate would not allow them to take any action to force their departure or charge them again for the dinner.
