Go to 91:44 to hear for yourself. CNN's transcript of Lemon's CNN Tonight from 8/19 is here:
http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1908/19/cnnt.02.html
The rest of the transcript is rather interesting, but this is what I transcribed of Sellers' words (the money quote I heard on the way home via radio on Loesch's show with Sergio Sanchez hosting):
"Well first of all, I don't think any democrat...I..I know Joe and myself both are not hoping that the country goes into a recession. Ah, we don't want individuals to suffer more than they are. But what we are saying is that the proverbial chickens are coming home to roost. Um, Donald Trump inherited a great economy from Barack Obama - one that was steadily growing - and everybody remembers the doldrums - the pits - that Barack Obama lifted the economy up from, but now you have a tax scam for the top 1%, which is raising our deficit. I know you had my former Governor Mark Sanford on earlier who harps back when the Republican party used to care about deficits, how the deficit is now 1.1 trillion dollars, you have tariffs which are bad for our farmers, bad for our businesses, bad for our manufacturers, bad for our retailers. And so yes: I mean, what he's done is he's implemented his own policies and he's screwed up Barack Obama's good economy."
It's literally that simple.
1500 years from now, a market upturn will be credited to The Won.
Because Magic Halfrican.
Here’s a way to save yourself lots, lots more time. Don’t bother.
These are arguments and talking points you simply cannot win, because whomever you’d be arguing with isn’t open to facts. When you are talking to someone who raises the standard, tiring “tax cuts for the rich”, “...just a continuation of the 0bama miracle”, “...suffering as much as they already are”....not to mention all three of them...... you have to know you are talking to a true believer whose only interest and ability is to blather out the same tired old chestnuts.
There is zero point arguing with someone who thinks this way, much less is willing to loudly proclaim these canards. They’re not convertible. They just have to be defeated.
For starters, who is “suffering” in this economy?
>>Um, Donald Trump inherited a great economy from Barack Obama - one that was steadily growing - and everybody remembers the doldrums - the pits - that Barack Obama lifted the economy up from,
BULLSHIT
Barack Obama The One said “those jobs aren’t coming back” and “this (low growth) is the new normal”.
Barack set out to knock down America’s standing in the world and Americans’ standard of living several pegs. He said that it was unfair for Americans just to set their thermostat at whatever they wanted and drive wherever they wanted.
Barack was okay with $4 a gallon gas and fought new technologies, pipelines, and offshore drilling.
Stalinists lie. Always
“If anyone has handy research documenting the strength of the Trump economy over Zero’s, I’d appreciate being thrown some bones to save me some time”
Just look at the GDP. Then take Obama’s words, “Sorry, America, the new normal may be here to stay” And throw it back in their faces.
