Indiana sounds very interesting. I have probably visited 3/4 of the states, but still have yet to see much of the Midwest. Is Indiana considered Midwest? Not sure.

Looks like an interesting series.....

Silo is a series of post-apocalyptic science fiction books by American writer Hugh Howey. The series started in 2011 with the short story “Wool”, which was later published together with four sequel novellas as a novel with the same name. Along with Wool, the series consists of Shift, Dust, three short stories and Wool: The Graphic Novel.[1]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silo_(series)

Looks like there are now 9 books in the series.

Adding to my list of future reading.

Thanks TADSLOS!

No it won’t be but in a couple of months both of these flatlanders will return to the big city southwest of here.

I just need to get used to walking alone, me and my transistor.

Indiana is very Midwest.

West of Pennsylvania, east of Colorado, north of OK, ARK and KY.

“John Brennan, son of Irish immigrants, now Obama’s top gun”

FTA:John Brennan, son of Irish parents, has become the most valued foreign policy aide to President Barack Obama says the Washington Post.

The Post reports that Brennan shares a small west wing office with Denis McDonough, another key Irish aide to Obama and that both men have major access to the president.

Brennan was the man the president turned to after the near explosion on board a flight on Christmas day.

“Within two weeks, Brennan had produced a sharply written report that caught other intelligence heads by surprise — and caused an uproar in some quarters for its harsh assessment of intelligence agencies’ performance.” the paper reports.

“Brennan has grown only more powerful within the White House, according to numerous officials. His allies — and there are many — say he is abundantly competent with a reassuring style.” the Post reports.

The paper says that Brennan has built a “high-voltage security hub in the White House, one that far outmuscles that of his predecessors. From a windowless, lower-level West Wing suite that he shares with Denis R. McDonough, the chief of staff to the National Security Council, Brennan has frequent access to the president.”

He is Obama’s ‘Invaluable go-to person’

Brennan, 55, was in the CIA most of his working life.

He speaks fluent Arabic and was once CIA station chief in Saudi Arabia.

He was born in Northern New Jersey to Irish parents from Roscommon.

Now he is at the right hand of Obama for every major foreign policy crisis. It is a major achievement for the son of immigrants from the old sod.

McDonough & Brennan sharing an office while Brennan is sending the FBI on politically motivated witch hunts for anti-Obama reporters and leakers while McDonough is feeding pro-Obama leaks to friendly reporters.

More on the Amazon Washington Post / @PhilipRucker scandal: Rucker broke his off the record agreement with the disgraced former WH staffer by sharing with @jdawsey1. Dawsey then shared w/ anyone that would listen. Consistent with your standards & policies, @washingtonpost? @whca?— Arthur Schwartz (@ArthurSchwartz) August 31, 2019

Re: FR Chapters; in the CA Central Valley a group of freepers years ago used to go out to Blackstone and Shaw in Fresno every Friday. We would hold rallies to support our troops. We decided to form a chapter with the Fresno FReepers. We have no meetings, no officers, no dues. But, for years we had a big patriotic picnic in the summer and a Christmas dinner get together in Dec. JustAmy still organizes the Christmas dinner. (Thank you, Amy!)

There may be other chapters, I’m thinking possibly in Texas, not sure. I think any group of freepers can form a chapter. If you ever get out to CA, we will see if we can all get together for dinner somewhere.

Okay. Thanks. Hopefully I will remember the criteria for determining Midwest if it ever comes up in a conversation again. Always seems to me that Colorado should be Midwest and Indiana maybe Midcenter, or something.

Sounds like SO much fun, MB.

I’m in TX, but not aware of a, or any, chapter/s.

Rusty, tad...are y’all aware of a TX FR chapter?

Maybe we’d need sub-chapters, since TX spans almost 900 miles, East to West.
