FULL TITLE: Wendy's manager is under fire for blaming his employees' poor service on having a 'talentless pool of ex-junkies' to hire from in the small Massachusetts town
A Wendy's manager has sparked outrage for insulting his employees and bashing his Massachusetts town as a drug-riddled, talentless 'pool of ex-junkies'.
Wendy's customer Matthew Rose said that he had been shocked by the bad service he received when he visited the restaurant on Cranberry Highway in Wareham on August 3. He says he returned a few days later, to a similarly terrible experience.
He decided to send a complaint to Wendy's corporate office. But the reply he was stunned with the response he received on Monday morning from district manager Keith Edward Helger.
Helger blamed the restaurant's shoddy service the poor caliber of applicants in the town.
The e-mail Rose received said: 'I apologize for your experiences at this location. Not an excuse but the town of Wareham has little to no talent pool to hire from. This is an ongoing issue in that area. We are constantly interviewing and hiring any and all qualified candidates. Unfortunately those candidates are hard to come by as most are recovering addicts and we cannot hire them.'
'We will continue to do our best to fix the issues in this location and improve the overall Wendy's experience. I appreciate your feedback.'

Oooookay.
nope. It’s BK culture, I think.
This ‘problem’ goes back to the garden of Eden after Abel’s birth and early life, Adam mused that there was a problem with todays youth just not having the proper work ethic.
I am sure that is NOT a worker among us that wasn’t frowned upon by ‘others’ in your first job as being ‘lazy, unproductive, don’t know a broom from a shovel’ etc and as we rose to Supervisory positions WE were commenting on the ‘lazy unproductive, don’t know a broom from a shovel etc and as we view todays work force, the present supervisors are ‘complaining’ etc etc etc.
Much the same as during every war/skirmish, the ‘old timers’ comment the ‘younguns’ don’t have it as rough etc etc etc.
Sure Marines in the group are familiar with the term ‘The Old Corps’ ... that goes back to the Tun Tavern where a couple of men put up a sign in the Tun seeking volunteers for a new Marine Corps.
A young man strolled in, was impressed and signed up and was handed 2 chits for a beer at the bar while waiting for some more BNGs.
A second young man joined the first at the bar, ordered a beer and struck up a conversation...
BNG”This seems like a good deal, why they even gave me a chit for a beer....”
“Hell, back in the Old Corps we got 2 chits for enlisting”
“ if they were paid $15 an hour.”
Being on a fixed income I will have to forgo store bought food.
Unless they want to pay the taxes to increase Social Security.
Then they lose the gain from getting $15.
It is a Generational mindset, when I was growing up, my parents drilled it into us that when you do a job, do it the best you can, when you have a job, Always show up early, and be the Best you can Be at your Job, Always strive to be Number 1 in your Job and Never Cry about WORK! If it wasn’t hard it wouldn’t be called WORK.
The Millenniall Generation has been indoctrinated to believe just Showing up should be good enough, when is my break, i want to go to lunch,I don’t want to work anymore, can I go home, when is my vacation, sick days,....Don’t get me wrong, you can Survive on a 40 hour a week job, but if you want the extra you need to go the extra mile, I haven’t worked less than an 60-80 hour week for over 30 years but I own my own business and do quite well for myself and my family.
I know a bunch of 30 year olds, friends of a friends son and have known them their whole life for the most part, out of about 15, NOT a Single one of these pussies could or would do what I did at 19 to survive on a Rig in the Oil Field, where a week was 100 Hours with only Sunday Off.
Didn’t some smart guy say something smart about telling the truth in an age of universal deceit?
Relatives of the people who work for the people who work for the Kennedys. And even they wont admit to having relatives in wareham.
Yeah, self-respect, an artifact of white privilege.
I look back at how my Dad, who grew up in the Depression, taught us to be so respectful towards bosses, and to appreciate paying work, his attitude had to be something out of the 19th century. Either the country has moved light years away from that attitude, or he was an outlier even in his day.
The addicts in Wareham are recovering...recovering from the night before.
I’m thinking that the first time they get their foodstamp situation reviewed, a lot of the folks that get the $15 an hour are gonna wish they hadn’t.
I just googled "Wareham MA Chic-Fil-A". There's a Chic-Fil-A about 15 miles north of Wareham in Plymouth. I'm guessing they have access to pretty much the same pool of employees and probably much better customer service.
I see this a triangle with the three points being employee, employer and consumer, all three of which refuse to accept the time-tested adage that, "you get what you pay for."
My life every day.
Sounds like the Wendy’s in Seabrook, NH too. They have to be trying to kill the brand same as DD is doing !
I believe that they did.

Clearing out whites for their replacements!

Somehow translates to:
‘talentless pool of ex-junkies’
Do they not understand the language the guy used? “Talent pool” does not mean the same talent as someone doing a show on-stage. It’s just means potential staff.
If the shoe fits..
used to be if you smoked pot in your life you couldn’t be a cop.
I was in meeting at the Orange County sheriff’s circa 1980s The chief from huntington beach was in the room We were discussing the POST (peace officers Standards and training) proposal to let pot smokers be hired. Of course, not on duty.
The chief of Huntington beach was in the room and he said he favored the change He said most of his applicants smoked pot and recently. He said some come in opposed and admit they have aJ in their pocket or car. he said, if we keep the rule, I won’t have a force on 5 years. It was changed to use but not within the last year. don’t know what it is today.
