The Cold, Hard Math Says Netflix Could Crash 70%

It’s official... it’s the beginning of the end for Netflix (NFLX).

As you may have heard, the online video company made a troubling announcement...

This quarter, for the first time ever, it lost American subscribers. Hundreds of thousands of them.

The stock plunged more than 11% on the news.

I’ve been “sounding the alarm” on Netflix’s troubled business since last July when its stock was trading above $400.

Yes I did but to me the main reason it’s going to go is Netflixs leftism. Me and quite a few others I know cancelled because of that. That Central Park 5 BS was the absolute last straw. That was absolutely outrageous and unforgivable that they would broadcast such utter tripe solely to hurt Trump. These are 5 punks who attempted to murder 2 people that night and the left portrays them as heroes when they are guilty as hell. I know the lead cop who worked on that case Eric Reynolds, he was absolutely outraged as well especially what it did to the rep of Linda Fairstein.

Obama - doing for Netflix what he did for the national Democrat party.

No, Netflix did it all to themselves. Long before hiring the Zero family, a lot of their 'original programming' was solidly left of the current crop of Democratic Presidential Candidates.

Netflix is deep in debt. The debt is being used to finance acquisition and production of content. Losing enough subscribers would put the company in deep trouble.

They have a show called Another Life which is sci-fi. This show was made by Netflix and had a five-star rating so the wife and I gave it a watch.

Not only was it filled with SJW bullsnot (global warming flooded the world, a trans person not given a gender, threesomes, and bi-crap) it was also terrible science fiction. We watched all 10 episodes mainly because it got to be funny in how terrible it was. Just awful.

Curious as to why it was rated 5-stars, I went out onto the web and searched for reviews from non-biased outsiders. It got 1 and 1.5 stars all around. The user comments on those sites were just as harsh. It got 6% rating on Rottentomatoes—a site I don’t trust, either, but they got this one right.

Netflix has to be manipulating the ratings.

As anecdotal evidence to support this, the Last Jedi is also rated at or near 5 stars on Netflix. It has a 44% audience rating on rottentomatoes, which is generous. How could it get a solid rating on Netflix???

Finally, I stand in front of the TV time after time scanning for shows/movies I want to watch on Netflix and invariably I end up watching things I’ve already seen a million times (like the Office) because there is NOTHING BUT GARBAGE.

Why do I keep it? Good question!

I agree with you

I had read that Netflix stock got so high because of investors factoring in future growth. That future growth is no longer there, they have already experienced the future growth. The level of Netflix debt is such that it will be a mammoth task to ever pay it off or even maintain it.most of this original content they’re producing is being paid for with borrowed money.

While I don’t like Amazon’s politics either, we decided for our streaming content to just use Amazon prime and take advantage of the prime shipping now and then. So we get streaming content and prime shipping for less than we’re paying Netflix right now. And I personally don’t care if I see the TV shows that were hot 3 years ago. Also some of Amazon’s original content is better than Netflix for my taste.

I’m also pretty conversant in newsgroups and that takes care of a lot of my interests.

"Really, the Obama’s aren’t the problem. The problem is they are loosing Disney content..."

Normally I'd agree with you. But Netflix made a yuuugggee PR push with their Dear White People wokeness series. If it was a hidden show that I wouldn't have known existed unless I looked for it, no problem. But their PR push was so heavy they practically told me, a white person, "This is what we think of you". I don't hang out with people who think of me like that, and I certainly don't pay them for it.

But where will I watch average to terrible movies all for a low low monthly price? Well Stranger Things is cool though. They use way too much unnecessary profanity and overboard forced PC in the rest of Netflix productions.

Not too long ago the Missus and I would either channel surf the cable or watch stuff we had recorded on our DVR. Then we got AppleTV.

We now surf AppleTV. Usually we start in Netflix, move on to Amazon, then HBO, then Hulu, and lastly Starz.

No, I am not insane enough to subscribe to all of these. I have two adult sons. We do two, our eldest does two, and our youngest subscribes to one of them.

Yep, we share our subscriptions.

Cable is now almost exclusively only watched for the (rare) specials on the alphabet networks, FoxNews, and some sports.

Netflix still has some good stuff - we are watching Another Life right now - but, they seem to be pushing Korean and Japanese crap. I am not a fan of subtitles.

Amazon has a few original series we like. Most of their movie catalog isn’t that great.

HBO was for Game of Thrones. They still show some good movies.

Hulu allows us to see the few network shows we are interested in.

The wife watches Starz for some chick-friendly series.

The point...viewing habits have radically changed. Netflix will be only one fish in a very crowded sea. Sell.

Well that’s the problem. No matter what Netflix does 4 years from now it won’t exist. That’s what stock price is. Value of future earnings and there isn’t much prospect.

Just sayin'......

Freepers were on the case back in Aug 2018.
Susan Rice got a cushy do-nothing seat on the Board of Netflix.
Netflix signed a deal with M/M Obama for $65M.

I don't care if the entire company and employees die and go to hell. Their embracing the Obamas and Susan Rice was IMO nothing short of idiocy.

When NetFlix decided its purpose was SJW, Globull Warming, Homosexual, and Pedophile support, they began losing the part of their market that they hate the most.

Us.

All they want to keep, is our children.

Not my taste by a long shot either. Their productions are laced with perversion, filthy language and the liberal stuff.

But they must think that a lot of people like that stuff. We’ll see. I honestly don’t know.

What has to scare Netflix is Disney's Disney+ and AT&T's HBO Max services, which will take a LOT of content away from Netflix.

“Netflix was becoming the HBO of online video services.”

Actually, Netflix is more like the AOL of streaming.

Their early advantage is gone, and they will have little to offer in unique content.

Exactly. It’s all B-movie stuff. Things you wouldn’t want to watch. Charley Varrick. Great movie. Can’t get it. How much could that cost them?

I only have internet and nothing else.

There are so many free channels with a $10 antenna, and free content on the internet, that it’s silly to pay for services anymore.

You folks have a lot more time on your hands than I do...

I lose 15 more lbs and I should be able to fit in my Wetsuit again, I’m looking forward to Scuba Diving again!

Until then I will just stay outdoors and only enter the house w a TV when I need to sleep... I’m a bachelor now and can do what I want ;^)
