Charles Barkley, a former NBA star and now an NBA analyst on TNT, said after the Democratic presidential candidate debate on July 30 that political parties have been neglecting economic opportunities for black Americans. He also added that most black people he knows who have always voted Democratic are still poor. In 2017, Barkley remarked that Democrats have taken the black vote and the poor vote for granted for a long time, and that this is a wakeup call for Democrats to do better for black people and poor white people. When Barkley was asked on July 30 whether he felt that its different this time around, he replied, I do not.

I don’t agree with you. He normally “tells it like it is” in sports and now politics. I like him.
They are being played and manipulated big time, led around by a nose ring.
When will famous blacks speak out on behalf of Asians or Hispanics or other groups? Isn’t it racist for him to frame it as a black and white issue?
At some point blacks are going to demand that the Democrat Party pay off on what they promised.
Which will be a bit of a problem for them as they’ve promised it to Hispanics too.
Regardless of what you think might happen in the future, to stray this far off the plantation is an act of courage, and his comments may encourage others to start thinking for themselves.

I happen to have met him at a Boys Club fund raising supper a couple of weeks back. He can be apolitical when it suits him but he’s 80% limousine liberal (=idiot) and 20% Alabama country boy common sense.
