A Kentucky woman has been arrested after her child severely burned an 11-year-old boy by pouring boiling water on him as a part of the dangerous 'Hot Water Challenge'.
Billy Oliver was sleeping over at his friend's house in Manchester when his pal woke him up around 2.30am and threw boiling water on him on July 23.
Billy suffered horrific second and third-degree burns that peeled his skin across his neck, back and shoulder in the shocking water attack.
His friend splashed him with the scalding liquid as a part of the 'Hot Water Challenge' where kids boil water to 212 degrees and pour it on someone or else drink it themselves.
The friend's mother Angela Guth, 42, turned herself into police on Friday and faces charges of second-degree criminal abuse and first-degree wanton endangerment charge for failing to get Billy medical attention following the incident, according to WYMT.
Guth's child's name was not released as he is a minor.
'It was a ten. On one, well on a zero to ten scale how bad it hurt, it was a ten,' Billy said on how his sleepover playing Fortnite with his friend turned terribly wrong.
Shocking photos of his injuries show Billy's skin reddened and peeling. At his shoulder his skin turned a shocking shade of red. His face appeared uninjured in the attack.
Billy is being treated at the Cincinatti Burn Center and is expected to recover and doctors do not believe he will need skin grafts for his injuries as his skin has continued to heal on its own.

Some friend.
This is what happens when you kick GOD out of our country!
What’s next? The 38 to the temple challenge?
where were the father(s)?
Stupid runs in that family.
where kids boil water to 212 degrees
Yup. Guessed right. Didn’t even need to click on the link.
Blaming peers, social media, the Internet and whatever else the kids got the idea from, is not any kind of sufficient excuse. By eleven years old, just on parental rearing alone, the kid should have seen the idea as idiotic and not a “friendly” prank.
If you dont need skin grafts, it wasnt 3rd degree burns.
Take a xanax.
There are 350 million people in the country.
We read the worst news because ordinary good people doing ordinary good things isn’t news.
Did we kick God out in the 50s during the Badland killings?
Was God kicked out in the ‘40s and WWII was the punishment?
Was the Great Depression in the 30’s God’s punishment?
WWI was God’s early 1900s penalty?
Were we REWARDED BY GOD for the prosperous 90s under a Godless Clinton regime.
God’s here. He doesn’t intercede in EVERY event that happens or free will would be meaningless.
We have 350 million people and THEY are human, so crazy AND bad things will happen.
Screaming nonsense about how it was because we kicked God out of the country doesn’t help.
Thank God the boy will fully recover without the need for grafts.
Because GOOD doctors and GOOD nurses, i’m sure, gave their BEST treatment to this child.
I KNOW he will get an outpouring of support from the community.
So let’s cut the “God is gone!!!” sh.t around here.
He recently blessed us with one of the best presidents we ever had. I man who did not hide his love of God.
Yet, curiously enough “Godless” people voted him in, even with rampant cheating going on.
ENOUGH of the Godless America nonsense.
And more “God Bless America”
Remember when kids use to snap each other with rubber bands and chase each other with willow branches? That was the extent of inflicting pain on a friend.
I cannot fathom the nuclear grade stupidity of that mother.
Burns are HORRIBLE pain.
that kid must have been screaming his lungs out.
Plus, buy not treating them right away, they only get worse. Cold needs to be applied IMMEDIATELY to stop the burning process.
I can’t wait until the Strychnine Challenge appears and we get tearful stories about how it ended badly for people. What is WRONG with people?
They already did the “pods” challenge, where people eat pods of laundry detergent. Nuts.
Speaking of nuts, they also had the nutmeg challenge and the cinnamon challenge, where people try to eat a spoonful of each. Choking ensues. Real funny. /s
I’m stunned....
“Remember when kids use to snap each other with rubber bands and chase each other with willow branches? That was the extent of inflicting pain on a friend.”
We had dirt bomb and itchy ball fights.
How stupid do you have to be to think that pouring boiling water on someone would be a fun little prank?
Been done. Russian Roulette.
