Did Alienating Conservatives Cause Netflix To Lose Subscribers?
PJ Media ^ | July 20, 2019 | Matt Margolis

On Wednesday, Netflix announced its subscriber base in the United States declined for the first time since 2011.

...

Netflix blames the decline on its most recent price increase...

Perhaps there’s another factor that Netflix is missing, or evening ignoring ....

For more than a year now, Netflix has made some controversial moves that undeniably alienated a large portion of its U.S. subscribers: conservatives.

Back in March of 2018, Netflix named former Susan Rice, the former National Security Adviser and Ambassador to the United Nations under Barack Obama, to their Board of Directors.

...

Rice’s placement on the Board of Directors was also criticized because her national security background seemed irrelevant to being on the BOD of an entertainment company.

One of the few places in our culture where Conservatives can still produce blockbusters is Amazon’s Best Sellers list in Politics and Government.

Being able to read above a fourth-grade level is becoming rarer by the day in America, but it’s a prominent feature of Conservatives.

Cancelled the day they announced that the Obamas were under their “wing..” Gone never to return.

Ditto. Literally within a few hours of hearing of the news, it was cancelled; and it was something the family used a lot.

Sorry but check again they lost a lot of their Disney content June 1.

I didn’t say most of their content wasn’t US made I said most of the claimed Netflix “exclusive” content that is any good is actually foreign where they got exclusive us rights.

Most of their actual self made content is slop... a few standouts, but a whole lot of white noise.

Exactly.

The 'diversity' propaganda and attempts to normalize the abnormal and perverse is now beyond absurd.

Disney is about as bad as it gets when it comes to putting politics into their programming. Look at how bad ESPN got after Disney bought them out (when Disney bought out ABC after ABC bought ESPN)?

How about hugely left leaning bias, crappy content, poor acting, directing, scripting, poor service. Everything seems to be macho females, lesbians, all who hate men but want to be just like men. The same stories over and over again and again.

They should hire Barrack and Michelle to get them back on track. Hillary can write the dialogue.

Their content pushes so much homosexuality that it’s sickening.
There’s not much left I want to see on Netflix.
And a lot of stuff I wish to unsee.

I watch a lot of NetFlix totally devoid of queer stuff

However, I recommend Acorn for lots of good Brit and Ausie programming

It does have some queer stuff however.

At a 30% cut they can lose 1 in 4 subscribers that paid through these and not lose a penny of revenue

Because boycotts work so well. Seriously, the first thing out of the mouths of libs when some business (see Chick-fil-a) or state (see Georgia) does something THEY don’t like is announce a boycott, but the fact of the matter is, boycott’s rarely actually work, and the left knows it. The assumption is people are dumb and lazy and are as likely to cancel Netflix over Politics as they are to cancel the gym membership that they have not set foot in for 3 years.

I’d like to wean myself off of them, too. I just have the 2 DVDs per month deal. We live in No Man’s Land, so internet streaming is poor, at best. (Satellite)

Are there any other services that ship DVDs, anymore?

Has anyone tried Brit Box? We love a lot of the Brit murder mystery series.

OK, here’s a list

Heartland, High Seas, Miss Fishers Murder mysteries (very good), Death in Paradise,blood line, Narcos, designated Survivor (fair), The Crown,, Rake, Better Calll Saul , Broadchurch, When Calls the Heart, Longmire (Very Good),Anne with an E, Ozkark (very minor queer stuff but very good overall),Land Girls, Medichi, Twin peaks, Mad Men (, one queer suicide, maybe) Peaky Blinders, Happy Valley, Godless, Indian Detective (interesting), Frontier (Don,t remember any queer stuff);

We have enjoyed all these especially Miss Fisher and Death in Paradise

I especially like Rake. My wife hates it. Cleaver Greene is a total screwup Australian lawyer that always win inspite of himself. I don’t remember Queer stuff

I often watch Korean and Taiwanese cop shows that are superb but have subtitles. The Koreans produce very very good stuff

Netflix is the pioneer. I suspect someone with a lot of money (AT&T or maybe Disney )will buy netflix.

I was putting off subscribing and then it became obvious that Netflix pumps raw sewage into our culture just like HBO. No thanks.

Its been predicted netflix will shrink quite severely as other media companies offer their own streaming services, and Disney is poised to take quite a bit of their market. One reason for buying up so many other studios.

The price increase, and less and less compelling content, make netflix less and less valuable.

Never had a subscription, never wanted a subscription.

Best get back outside, got a lot of wood to split.
