On Wednesday, Netflix announced its subscriber base in the United States declined for the first time since 2011.
...
Netflix blames the decline on its most recent price increase...
Perhaps theres another factor that Netflix is missing, or evening ignoring ....
For more than a year now, Netflix has made some controversial moves that undeniably alienated a large portion of its U.S. subscribers: conservatives.
Back in March of 2018, Netflix named former Susan Rice, the former National Security Adviser and Ambassador to the United Nations under Barack Obama, to their Board of Directors.
...
Rices placement on the Board of Directors was also criticized because her national security background seemed irrelevant to being on the BOD of an entertainment company.

Thanks for the heads up, we will have his daughter take it out.
We mainly watch a movie at night, but want clean cartoons for our grand daughter who is 21 months and just getting into watching some.
I assume that requires an Internet subscription. Does it require a Smart TV? Does it require connecting the Cat-5/cable connection directly to the skystream 3 plus box? Can you do either Smart TV or direct cable connection?
I currently am tied to a PC in my office and a dead old unconnected TV in my living room (no cable subscription). I’m interested in streaming media into my living room but I don’t want to depend on a wire if possible. Smart TV and skystream 3 plus box sounds promising?
I use Roku. I like some of the youtube channels. Theres lots of good stuff on cars and guns and etc. Netflix programming has taken a big nosedive. Still my wife likes shows like “Rake” so I’ll keep Netflix for now. Amazon has a lot better programming and I use Prime anyhow and save a bundle on shipping costs. Britbox is pretty good too.
We flatter ourselves thinking that. If everything needed conservatives to survive, we would not have lost the cultural battles. Not everything nor everybody needs conservatives to stay in business. It could simply be bad business decisions.
I did the same thing for the same reason.
Goes to show you the Obamas were late again to the tard party.
That clan doesn’t have the mental capacity to figure it out.
Just in general conversation a couple of people say they had cancelled over what amounts to the company’s political activism.
You mean that people were missing the Disney content and not rushing out to watch the unfunny “Nanette”?
I do agree the price increase is the cause and after all, there are limits. It is not possible for the subscription base to go higher every quarter forever. People are very price sensitive, but overall they will receive more revenue with a bit less subscribers at the higher rate.
I have noticed only one or two shows that are SJW. There is a climate doc which I avoid. Obama's new show streams in August for the first time, but its description seems hardly SJW. So we will see.
Most pubs do see trouble for Netflix down the road since their production costs are through the roof.
Yes to internet, tv just requires an HDMI port. Just check the website but it looks like they are moving their website to facebook. Look for elitemodsteam on facebook.
Netflix increased their prices.
But, the thesis is correct: STOP PAYING ORGANIZATIONS THAT HATE YOU AND EVERYTHING YOU STAND FOR. STARVE THE BEAST.
You can live without watching the foolsball games, etc.
3+ years with no cable...I should have done it earlier.
Pretty much all of the streaming boxes and smart TVs support Wi-Fi, so all you really need is a Wi-Fi router, if you don’t already have one.
There are a lot of good solutions out there that will give you access to a lot of content for little or no money, if you don’t mind pirating your content. For example new NetFlix content? It’s unlikely that it’s legally on another streaming service.
My issue with NetFlix is more that they have fewer and fewer TV series worth watching, and especially that their stock of classic movies is very poor compared to what it once was. I originally signed up for a trial period just so that I could watch African Queen with my girlfriend at the time.
And every show has a mixed-race couple. Seriously, it is standard in shows (and commercials) that a mixed-race couple WILL be in each show and commercial. This has gotten as common and having ignorant males and super smart/snarky women mocking men, especially White males.
A business model based on alienating half of your possible customer base is a poor business model.
And yet company after company does that. Why?
Perhaps. . .but imagine how much more successful those anti-conservative services (and movies) would be if they DIDN’T mock/belittle those Americans with strong family values and are pro-American.
I wouldn;t support any business that the Obamas were mixed up in. They didn;t do well at Pennnsylvania Ave..for the rest of us.
Even the third season of Stranger Things can’t keep me from cancelling. What a disappointment.
Any company that gets involved in Politics should fire there ceo..
Netflix is doomed with Disney streaming in 2020...if Disney keeps it family friendly...they may blow it like ESPN..
I cancelled when they brought in Barry and Big Mike.
It is the one thing I pay for my adult daughters. I watch once in a while. I find its programed for 16 year old girls who are staying home with cramps.
