When a woman's car broke down, these teens pushed it five miles to her home

A late-night run to the donut shop turned into a roadside rescue for three teens living near Niagara Falls. It ended with them pushing a stranded stranger's car for hours and inspiring others on Facebook.

Aeron McQuillin, 18, Bailey Campbell, 17, and Billy Tarbett, 15, were on their way to a Tim Hortons donut shop in Fonthill, Ontario, when they spotted a woman on the side of the road with smoke coming out of her car. They quickly diagnosed the problem as a leak that allowed the engine coolant and oil to mix. They also determined the car was too dangerous to drive.

The driver couldn't afford a tow truck. So, Billy suggested that guys push the car. The woman lives more than five miles away.

That was a very nice thing they did for her.
I’m surprised the car owner didn’t make it her business to get their names, so she could thank them , maybe send a gift card or something.

My next remark won’t win me any fans.
If one of the boys was my son or grandson, I would not want him pushing a strangers’ car for five miles, at night and at times uphill.
People do get hernias and throw their back out, even kids.
They could have been #Me-Too’ed as well.
She probably had her phone, so she could have called the local police for help, just to get her off the public road.
Still, it’s good to know there are still people this nice.

AAA is only $45.00 a year my goodness if your car is older AAA is a must have!!! No charge for towing, changing a tire, ect. Everyone should be able to afford $4.00 a month so you are not stuck somewhere because you can’t afford a tow truck!!!

Oh, I am quite certain that a CNN reporter would know intimately what a 'butt plug' was, and be bright enough to know that a spark plug might not be the best substitute. 😁

Screwy story for sure. A man was there with a car and followed them.
A photo is at the site.

Does AAA apply to Canada?

Seriously, though, sometimes they take HOURS.

Problem is if you promulgate that scared and selfish attitude, well, hellish society is exactly what we get.

If more people did what is decent and kind, we’d have fewer problems including urban crime. Instead, hiding away let’s it happen.

I don’t blame anyone for their concern for their safety, but ultimately maybe they made someone else safer.

Agreed.
When 9/11 happened, our kid wanted to drop out of school & go to NYC to help. We told him no.
We were concerned about long term health effects of breathing the toxic ash into his lungs.
Unfortunately our fears have been well founded, WRT the first responders.

Times are changing. When I was their age cars were much larger and there was no way 3 of us could have pushed it 5 miles. :)

I was assuming they pushed it with their car,

but times are changed and no current car could push another.

It’s nice to see an article with “teens” in the title that isn’t the usual.

Wonderful kids. I just love their comments after, including that everyone has had car problems and can relate.
