FULL TITLE: Virginia dad fires 39 shots at naked 'devil' who broke into family's home on first night living there: report
A Virginia dad on Thursday fired 39 warning shots and brawled with a naked woman who called herself "the devil" after she allegedly broke into the family's home on their first night living there, according to reports.
The violent confrontation happened in Chesterfield County on the evening of the Fourth of July, police said.
A female suspect who was naked and with blue hair in a ponytail broke into the family's home and refused to leave, telling them: "I'm the devil," WRIC reported.
The dad of the family fired 39 "warning shots" at the intruder, but she was undeterred, WTVR reported. A brawl broke out between the woman and the family -- including the 12-year-old son, the station reported.
Punches and furniture were reportedly thrown about. The fight ended after the 12-year-old shoved a wrench into the intruder's neck, WRIC reported.
"She had the strength of four grown men," the father later told the station.

What is wrong about calmly talking to the deluded woman until cops can arrive? If she attacks somebody then shoot her. If she just sits, wait for cops to haul her off.
When I was about 5 years old, my father taught me how to handle guns. The first rules he taught me were (1) never point a gun at someone unless you are prepared to shoot them, and (2) never shoot at someone unless you are trying to kill them. Warning shots and shots to disarm are for TV.
I actually stopped watching newscasts before they became total Democrat shills because of the wasted time. They cram 10 minutes of news into a 60 minute program. Much faster to scan the stories in a newspaper or online.

If I ever have to shoot someone breaking into my home it will not be with one shot, it will be at least 6 shots grouped at the perp's chest (unless my shotgun is handier, in which case it will be two 12-gauge shells to the chest).

Very bad reaction by the home owner. He needs to study self defense laws and use of deadly force laws.

If deadly force is required, you shoot to live and until your assailant is no longer an active threat. Warning shots are something out of old Westerns and TV shows. They have no place in the concept of self defense. The decision is shoot or don’t shoot, there is never a place for a warning shot under most legal standards. A warning shot is often evidence that deadly force was not required.
I would think after the 5th or 6th “warning” shot he would have figured out all he was accomplishing was putting holes in his new house.

It was a socket wrench with an extension bar that he shoved into her neck. There is a picture of the wrench in the video posted here.
Dad was obviously panic shooting. He is damned lucky that he did not hit anyone in his family. He needs to spend the next several weekends at a shooting range getting instructed on the proper use of a firearm to protect his family. He also needs to seriously consider switching to a 12 gauge shotgun for home defense.
Maybe this is a theological question, but how would the Devil do with a sucking chest wound?
