Chickens are friends for some people, dinner for others. Sometimes both.
But one animal rights group feels that the name of a rural road in the Treasure Valley isnt kind to poultry.
PETA sent out a news release Wednesday morning alerting Idaho media that it has written a letter to Caldwell Mayor Garret Nancolas to ask for a change to the street name Chicken Dinner Road. However, Caldwell city street maps dont include Chicken Dinner Road, which is located in rural Canyon County.

Dear PETA,
We would be more than happy to change the name to one of the following:
Baby Seal Club Road.
Rare Whale Burger Boulevard
Veal Tartara Drive
Foie Gras Way
—Mayor Nancolas
“Good Indian Road” would be a lot better.
We had trailer parts shipped to us from Dead Indian Road. I’m surprised they haven’t made them change it by now.
Gotta love a happy ending.

I’ve named all of my girls after First Ladies. I’d, therefore, nominate such a road to be called ‘Pennsylvania Avenue’!
By the way, guess what my black chicken’s name is...
NO, YOU RACISTS! It’s “Jackie O”! Sheesh.
Fried Chicken Dinner Rd!
Do these twits lie awake all night looking for something to be outraged about? Geez, get a life, libs.
LMAO!!!
Was the dad charged with assault? I hope not.
OK, ok - hmmm, we’ll just call it “Fried Chicken Dinner Road”. ‘Kay?
If I remember right, the dad was let go by deputies that came...PETA wanted to sue, but didn’t....
There is a crossroads near here called Negro Foot.
I still have an old map that has that designation on it.
The story goes that an escaped slave had his foot amputated and posted at the crossroads as a warning to other potential runaways.
It’s been scrubbed from more recent maps.
Back home, we have Negro Mountain and Polish Mountain. A few years ago, all the virtue signalling, state social justice congrescritters suddenly got worked up into a lather about them and tried to have their names changed. FAIL.
I wouldn’t mind living on Chicken Dinner Road.
Would beat the snot out of where I live now....

You make an excellent point! How do they know that “Chicken Dinner Road” doesn’t refer to what the chickens are eating for dinner?
We should call it “PETA Dinner Rd” then.
Seriously, Chicken Dinner Rd is a tourist attraction here in the Treasure Valley.
Personally I prefer Chickensoup Avenue.
But I can live with Chickenpie Street
or Chicken Dumpling Lane
Or even Fried Chicken Road!
Seek and ye shall find ... overlay those coordinates on a topo map. You won’t be disappointed.
this thread WAS posted for me, right??
