In 1451,forty years before Columbus first came to America, a Holy Man and Prophet known as Deganawida, "The Great Peacemaker" came to the Mohawk Indians in New York and convinced them to join forces with their enemies to form the Iroquois Federation. The 5 original tribes were later joined by the Tuscarora Indians who moved North from the Carolinas.
While there is much debate on this, the U.S. Government was formed using the Iroquois Federation as a model.

After the French lost, the Brits tried to prohibit English settlement beyond the Appalachians—Proclamation of 1763. As an Indian, I like that idea. The Americans in the person of Capt. Washington of the Virginia Militia started the F&I War thought they had a right to settle the land the war was fought over and won. This was one of many grievances that led to the War of Independence. At this point, from the Indian point of view, the Brits are the good guys and the Americans are the bad when the American Revolution begins.
The Indians weren’t stupid. They rightly saw us (Americans) as a threat to their existence. It really boiled down to economics. Forty acres of land could support a whole lot more of us than them.

I agree that many of Locke’s ideas were used, but the Iroquois had the same ideas much earlier.
My heritage is Heinz 57 varieties, a mixture of all. However a large portion is Native American on both sides of my parentage.

I have my suspicions that it is recent hoax but haven’t researched it.
Interestingly, there is a similar Catholic prophecy from the 1800s that also gets accused of being non-authentic (at least part of it, but without “proof”), but the author of the non-disputed portion is a saint, literally. So I don’t know what to think.
And there is always the Malachi prophecy referenced in my tag line which deals not with iron carriages and iron birds but a crusty and heretical old pope.

Who? Blacks or Indians? My tribe has a defense contract to manufacture Patriot missile guidance systems. The Indian side of my family has produced quite a few engineers and scientists (I’m half-white, but majored in physics myself)... those of us who aren’t alcoholics anyhow.

Well, in a world without airplanes, cars or stable societies, I’d say they’ve got a leg up on whitey. I don’t doubt that that day is coming to parts of the world.
