WASHINGTON — The Trump administration said Wednesday it is ending medical research by government scientists using human fetal tissue, a victory for abortion foes that comes despite impassioned pleas from scientists that some health problems can't be studied any other way. Research using fetal tissue that otherwise would be discarded has been funded by the government, under leadership of both political parties, for decades — and has led to life-saving advances including development of vaccines for rubella and rabies, and drugs for the HIV virus. Officials said government-sponsored research by universities will be allowed to continue, subject to additional scrutiny. But ongoing research at the National Institutes of Health involving fetal tissue from elective abortion would not be allowed to proceed.

I know a mother who had her baby’s umbilical cord & placenta harvested, & she donated them to a research facility.
She told me the stem cells from umbilica & placentae can be used in the exact same types of research, eliminating any excuse for harvesting dead fetuses.
This was during the Bush years. I’ve no idea whether she was correct, and since then, I’ve never heard of anyone else doing that.
Have there been any medical breakthroughs that have come exclusively from embryonic stem cells? I remember when GWB ended federal funding for embryonic stem cell research beyond a few stem cell lines that were already being studied. Bush was attacked for the rest of his presidency for being “anti-science”. Of course he never fought back. Trying that attack on Trump will get a very different result.

I remember reading then that there were actually better, mode consistent results from the cord and placenta than from dead babies. I’m sure the MSM (Main Stream Molochites) quashed the story.
If true, then there’s a solution right there! Like organ donation, a women could consent or not to give away cord & placenta at birth
