The Fort Worth ISD school board voted to fire a teacher accused of posting a controversial tweet about illegal immigration.

I knew this would happen. I hope that teacher also knew, and had made preparations for being pushed out or ‘suspended’ for daring to say something unpopular. No second chances, no offering of counsel or retraining or reassignment, just booted out the nearest door.

I work at a texas school and Im about done with it.

Great teachers are run off so admins can hire friends and family and the rules are meant for everyone but those in charge.

Need the exact wording of the teacher's tweet before passing judgement / forming an opinion.

Did the teacher use, e.g., extreme profanity and obscenities? Did the teacher advocate, e.g., mob violence against suspected illegals? Some particulars would be helpful.

The Fort Worth ISD is going to end up paying a hell of a large settlement to make her go away after she wins her appeal, or an even bigger check if she doesn’t win her appeal and it goes to court.

She asked an elected official to perform their duties. At the end of the day, that’s all that tweet did. School board did absolutely no good for their cause (or the taxpayer’s money they’ll be giving her) by clearly establishing that she was fired ONLY over this tweet.

A teacher asked Trump to round up ‘illegal students’ — in tweets she says she thought were private

Georgia Clark, a veteran high school English teacher in Fort Worth, had an urgent request for President Trump: She needed help pulling undocumented immigrants from her school.

“Mr. President, Fort Worth Independent School District is loaded with illegal students from Mexico,” Clark wrote May 17 on her now-deleted Twitter account, @Rebecca1939. “Anything you can do to remove the illegals from Fort Worth would be greatly appreciated,” she wrote in another tweet.

Clark was careful in her approach, she believed, and told the president she needed guarantees her identity would be protected when action was taken. “Texas will not protect whistle blowers. The Mexicans refuse to honor our flag,” she wrote.
