Rat-infested pop-up bar to open in San Francisco
San Fran Chronicle ^ | May 30, 2019

In what can only be construed as the "literally, no one” meme brought to life, next month San Francisco is getting a pop-up called the Rat Bar where “rats run free and the booze flows like water.”

The project comes from the folks behind the San Francisco Dungeon at Fisherman’s Wharf, a haunted house-like venture specializing in theatrical recreations of historical events. The pop-up is slated to run from June 13 to 15 at 145 Jefferson St. In 2017, this same group brought a similarly styled rodent spot to the city called the Black Rat Cafe.

poop in the streets, rats in the bars. Time for typhus & black plague. The Pied Pipers walking the streets are not doing any good.

This is a rat burger?

Not bad.

In fact, best burger I’ve had in awhile.

“... a haunted house-like venture specializing in theatrical recreations of historical event...”

How about a real recreation of the San Francisco earthquake?

Will the locals even notice? They are comfortable living near urine and excrement.

Go for more realism, by having feces and used syringes in there too.

Disgusting! A lot of Rats as Pets owners are young women.
I’m sure there’s an untold story about that.
Most giant spider owners are guys.
I’m going by what I see in my area on Craigslist, plus other observations.

It’s a gimmick for attention, as with Nude Bars.
Why would someone want to sit down and have a drink in a Nude Bar? Unless you looked like Mr. or Ms America, and brought your own clean cushion to sit on.

***Time for typhus & black plague.***

San Fransicko, where the plague first entered the Continental USA back in the 1860s or so, right off the boat from China.

On another thread here, there is documented cases of LAPD officers infected with Typhus. Gotta love the land of fruits and nuts.

Black Rat Cafe??? No way would I ever enter there.

The black rat, also known as the California tree rat, is the same species that carried the bacteria that caused the plague epidemics in Europe during the middle ages. Although cases of plague in the US today are usually caused by ground squirrels and prairie dogs, these rats have been blamed for recent typhus outbreaks in Los Angeles and can carry other infectious diseases as well.
