Right in there with an insult to those who gave their lives for our country. No mention of Memorial Day on the splash page and instead of GOOGLE spelled out in colors, it is all gray

checked resolution
Yeah. How dare they support the South?
If you have a resolution of 1024x768 or less on a desktop OS, sometimes stuff like this will not render in on Google pages.
I checked it on several other computers and they all come up the same way as I pictured.
Not precisely correct. Though the grey evokes little by itself, it links to a fulsome set of Memorial Day information. There is also a descriptive link below the search bar.
Never use giggle, they are evil..

“that is not coming through on my computer”
Either your screen resolution is set for a tiny portion of the page, or your computer isn’t downloading the whole page. Try scrolling down the page.

Are on a deskt? Look at their desktop version.
I would say they got it exceptionally right, for Google.
My Google screen is also gray but has a message:
Join us in observing the National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00 pm, local time.
According to Google, I am supposed to engage in an act of national unity for a duration of one minute.
Today on Bing
I would as well. Stylistically, they emphasized what’s important on this day, in a very simple, sober fashion - while deliberately stepping themselves back from the foreground. Fair enough.
No folded flag on my screen.
See further comments upthread. It is there in the original source code for the page, you just aren’t seeing it because for whatever reason your computer isn’t rendering it in.
Try scrolling down - the flag is below the line about the moment of remembrance.
They will be taking notes on those that don’t follow orders.
I went there and it had a link asking folks to join in a national moment of remembrance and it took me to a page that explained what we were remembering......
I have a large screen.
I use Google every day, and there is never a scrolling bar on Google’s home page.
Yes, but what resolution is that screen (and your window) set to?
In any case, said flag is clearly there for most people.
Re: It is there in the original source code for the page...
I went through “Inspect Element” line by line.
I don’t see anything there that relates to a folded flag image.
Remember,Google knows the rest of the world does its Memorial Day on November 11th, when we do our Veterans Day.
