Univ. Of Alabama Returns $21.5 Million Gift; Donor Urged Boycott Over Abortion Law

The University of Alabama’s Board of Trustees has voted to return a $21.5 million gift from Hugh Culverhouse Jr. — the school’s biggest donor — and take his name off its law school. The move comes after Culverhouse urged businesses and prospective students to boycott the university and the state over Alabama’s new abortion law.

The school says the transaction to return the funds was processed Friday morning and that it will also return any accrued interest. Last fall, Culverhouse pledged to donate a total of $26.5 million over four years.

I've known Mueller for over 30 years and I would have thought he would have called me.

I asked him 3 times if he wanted to change the report.(not exact words...to made a decision)

I thought the letter was ."A bit Snitty"

And the clincher is:“The letter is a bit snitty, and I think it was probably written by one of his staff people,”

If Barr and Mueller have known each other and worked together Barr would be the one to know if Mueller was dirty or not. ONE wouldn't expect a call from a dirty man but he would from a friend.

At the beginning of the week, it was thought the IG report might be out this week. The week is coming to a close, so it looks like to IG report this week.

Ran across an article that said the IG report has been sent to BARR for his perusal. They expected it out first of next week.

If, and I say if, Mueller turns out to be a dirty cop, Barr is going to take it personal.

I don't think you ever want to play a man like Barr.

And it sure would suck to be Mueller.

About what Barr said, I think the "snitty" letter was more likely written by Weissmann, without even running it by Mueller.

When Mueller was reading the whole presser, my feeling was he doesn't even know what he is reading, Weissmann again?

Mueller looked old, feeble and broken.

And as for the "Mueller Dossier," that's what Devan Nunes calls it, have read that they farmed out portions to others to write, that's why it reads like it was written by many, it was.

Levin really picked the writing apart, said it was juvenile, sophomoric.

I wonder if Mueller has even read it, he'd should be embarrassed that this is his legacy.

Levin is a really a smart cookie. He would know what he's saying. You said you weren't sure if Mueller even read the report. What if I said...that wasn't the important goal for Mueller. And the report won't be his legacy. His legacy will be much bigger than a report. He was perhaps fighting for something much much bigger. He did what he was suppose to do and that was making sure our president was found not guilty. AND maybe he was doing other work while his staff was working on the report...I often wondered if I should be writing spy stories...lol

Pres & Mrs Trump step off Marine One and cross South Lawn to greet WH visitors invited to see the President's return from Europe.
