What's going on? Why the change to your format and user posts? Don't like it. Keep it simple. Don't want to read posts that are repeated and have a huge number of comments. zzzzz

This reminds me we haven’t had a good Opus in quite a while.

For the record, I'm not opposed to vanity posts per say. However, I'm not a mind reader so I require a clear and concise explanation so I understand the message and the context.
As such I have devised a very simple test for any vanity post:
Before posting, get up, go outside, walk-up to the first stranger you meet, and say to them exactly what you are going to post. As in this vanity post:
"Why the Change in Format Posts? 3,000 1,000 posts etc."
"What's going on? Why the change to your format and user posts? Don't like it. Keep it simple. Don't want to read posts that are repeated and have a huge number of comments. zzzzz"
Then before posting, come back and report exactly how they reacted and what they said after you made your comment.
If they stare at you like you're insane, you need to re-write your post so it's clear to anyone who might read it.

My next one will probably be something really fun to build, and won't be state of the art per se. But cheap.

But what may not pass here on Good Old Free Republic is the (IMHO) increasing occurrence of ONE LINERS POSTS. I must agree; and vanities that are not labeled [Vanity] as they should be. It junks the place up. I would greatly like to see increased Moderator restraints on vanities in general, and unlabeled vanities in particular, as per Jim's opening instructions page.

Me, either. But I wish the posters who post in all bold and every line centered, would knock in the hell off.
