Some 27.2 million workers will be late and distracted, costing $3.3 billion in lost productivity, management firm survey predicts. An estimated 10.7 million Americans will skip work the morning after the feature-length series finale of the HBO juggernaut airs on Sunday night, according to The Workforce Institute at Kronos, either by calling in sick, taking a last-minute personal or vacation day, or making some other arrangement.

Also when the surf was up to about 5 feet or higher we had many mystery illnesses.
My boss preferred that we hire people from the midwest. Purdue graduates dominated our work force.
FFS...it comes on at 9:00 and will probably run MAYBE an hour and a half. Are people planning on getting shitfaced on a massive scale for the ending of a show?
There was a Dilbert cartoon years ago in which the Pointy-haired boss noticed that 20% of all absentees were on Mondays. And a further 20% of all absentees were on Fridays. That’s 40% total! People just scamming the company, trying to get long weekends!!!!!
Geez, most every night I’m on FR until 1:00 AM and I’ve never missed a day of work.
back in US ARMY EUROPE in the 1980’s the 3d Armored Division declared that the first formation on “Super Bowl Monday” was noon. AFRTS live broadcast it beginning at 11 pm when it started to conclusion 3-4 hours later.
Fortunately in Canada, Monday is a national holiday (Victoria Day)
I think the worst case of "too intense for Sunday night" was game 5 of the 2017 World Series. There must have been 8 lead changes in a game that went 10 innings and ended up 13-12 with the Astros winning. The game was on until about 1:00 AM Central time. I think all of us in the Houston area were bleary-eyed the next day. Only pussies called in sick that Monday.
Considering the criticism of this season by loyal fans over the quality and writing this season, a GOT fan might HAVE to get "shitfaced" just to watch it at all. I am actually afraid of how badly they may botch this final episode.

I don’t plan on missing my job of sitting on the patio Monday morning and drinking my coffee. Of course I won’t be watching that TV show either.
The medium is the massage.
I’ve never seen ANY of GOT.
Stupid projection.
When American Idol was on Fox, they’d get 30 million viewers, triple the GOT number, on some shows. Never got a write-up for causing billions in lost productivity.
No, the Workforce Institute at Kronos is pulling random numbers and guesses out of their butt to get noticed. Later, it’ll be repeated by many as the gospel truth.
I like your job.
I must be the only person on Earth who’s not seen even one episode.
I’m going to miss work...cause I’m off that day. And have no idea what GOT’s is all about anyway.......
“I must be the only person on Earth who’s not seen even one episode.”
I tried but couldn’t get through episode 1.
Yeah, I have to say I am not looking forward to it. But, it won't be the first time that a series had a disappointing finale.
