In fact, drinking six or more cups per day will increase your risk of heart disease by up to 22 percent, the report published May 10 finds. The link between caffeine and heart disease stems from the risks associated with high blood pressure, which can be triggered by excessive caffeine consumption.
Most people would agree that if you drink a lot of coffee, you might feel jittery, irritable or perhaps even nauseous thats because caffeine helps your body work faster and harder, but it is also likely to suggest that you may have reached your limit for the time being," Professor Elina Hyppönen of the Australian Centre for Precision Health said of findings.
Hyppönen called six cups of coffee "the tipping point," leading to adverse health effects, even among people who are carriers of the quicker variation of human caffeine-metabolizing gene. The results of the study were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

... a new study finds.
... according to the report.
... experts predict...
all I hear is blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda
Coffee is deadly. So is chewing gum.
No worries ... next week there will be another study concluding exactly the opposite. In the meantime, they can get their grubby hands off my coffee!
Eggs are bad for you.
No, eggs are good for you.
Margarine is good for you.

The only constant is the flow and dispersal of public tax dollars to fund the next ground-breaking, breathlessly reported “factual” study on nutrition.
Tomorrow’s study will find drinking six cups of coffee a day is good for you.
Oh they’re counting in cups rather than pots. That’s cute.
Exactly
In the mid-80s, I was stationed in Panama. We had a female NCO who knew someone who was going to Columbia, and she’d asked the traveler to bring back high-grade Columbian coffee. So the guy comes back and he’s got this big bag of Columbian brew.
The NCO started almost the next day on brewing this new type of coffee. She was one of those 5-to-6 cups a day types. Along about the 3rd day of this...she was acting abnormal, admitting to a lack of sleep, and near some type of exhaustion. By the end of the 3rd day...her boss carried her over to the hospital because of her behavior. They kept her overnight, tested the coffee beans, and reached the conclusion that she was overdosing on caffeine (maybe up to 1000 mg per day).
smh... really? A "fact"? that it "will"?
I'll wait for tomorrows "fact" before I panic.
This is BS. Some good studies showing just the opposite and in fact that it protects women esp from recurrent breast CA along with other.
I think in small amounts (black) coffee might be fine, even beneficial?
But usually the problem with coffee is all the other stuff that gets put in it, especially white sugar and other processed sugars like “Coffee Mate” aka “White Death” ...
A Starbucks venti latte has a quarter-pound of sugar in it ... too much sugar is the real threat to heath
Really? The last report I read said drinking ten cups of coffee a day would give you the sex drive of a teenager. I figured, if ten is good, twenty would be great...
I’m not sure it’s working because I can’t stay out of the bathroom.
I stopped several months back, but for about 10 years I had TWELVE diet root beers a day.
That’s disgusting.
But I had received a severe head injury and the first five years recovering it comforted me and the next five were because I was used to it.
From day one the doctors told me within MONTHS my liver, kidneys, heart and I forget what else would be RUINED, I tell ya, RUINED.
My blood tests are fine and I stopped because I wanted to get healthier.
it almost used to pi@@ the doctor off that my blood work was fine.
Some woman who was 114!!! at the time said she’d been drinking 4 doctor peppers (non diet) every day for the past FIFTY YEARS!!
There was a 103 year old guy who smoked, drank and ate awful and was still working!
The exception? Likely.
But they do seem to exaggerate the effects of everything.
It’s a good thing I stop at 5 and 3/4 cups, then.
That made me laugh.
OK, good I only have 5.75 cups per morning.
I have had real live Colombian coffee before . . . very strong. Far stronger than what I drink, and most folks think I make my coffee strong.
Folks down in Louisiana drink some mighty strong coffee, too . . . also much stronger than I drink.
