Todays Cryptogram
GB'Y YV OPWT AFBBFK BV DKVOVBF STUB CVP IVZF BTUL BV AUYT STUB CVP TUBF. ---MFYYGWU UIAU
Todays CG is courtesy of the Arkansas Gazette.
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under 2 "you're a pro!"
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Big welcome to ComputerGuy!!!!!
Solution to our last puzzle:
IN MEN OF THE HIGHEST CHARACTER AND NOBLEST GENIUS THERE IS TO BE FOUND AN INSATIABLE DESIRE FOR HONOUR, COMMAND, POWER, AND GLORY. ---CICERO
NOTE REGARDING TODAYS PUZZLE. GOOD ADVICE FOR ALL THOSE NEGATIVE TRUMPERS OUT THERE.
3 minutes but I worked for it The contraction, the E fill in the two letters and a bold guess on the 4th word paid off.
Thanks again Nikos. Words to live by. Strive not strife.
3 min. Got the contraction, then the 2 letter words. Recognized pattern for 4th word, and the rest became apparent.
I wasted time trying to figure out the three letter words. Gave up on that. Focused on the fourth word which helped the fifth word and the contraction. The sixth word became obvious and then it was just a matter of filling in letters. Nice quote.
What I've noticed in your posts, is that the word "that" is missing, and so you've taken away the very first thing that I look for ... /grin
I commend you for the daily Crypogram on FR, and keep up the good work, my FRiend :)
Cheers,

Ditto. 😁
Thank you for posting these! Less than 1 minute, starting with contraction. Have a great day, everyone!

Wise words from an... expected source, I must say.
Are you talking about today's puzzle, or in my commentary? In my old age, I've been a bit dyslexic, and frequently I'll skip a word, or mis-spell it. In short, the hardest thing about posting these CGs is to make sure they're right. Nothing would be worse than to post a puzzle only to find out that I messed up on a letter. Glad you're enjoying them. Are you on the ping list?
