HARARA, May 13 (Reuters) - Zimbabwe has started rolling power cuts lasting up to eight hours that will also hit mines, a schedule from the state power utility showed on Monday, after reduced output at both the largest hydro plant and ageing coal-fired generators.

The power cuts will add to mounting public anger against President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government as Zimbabweans grapple with an economic crisis that has seen shortages of U.S. dollars, fuel, food and medicines as well as soaring inflation that is eroding earnings and savings.

The US Federal Reserve claims that economic growth causes inflation. Real world examples prove otherwise.

Not well known but there have been rolling blackouts in South Africa for a while. How do I know? I have family that live there.

Zimbabwe, Venezuela, Cuba, etc. There are plenty of examples but the morons who elect Democrats never seem to learn from them. I guess if you figure by definition about half of the population is below average intelligence, and half the populations is below average in their willingness to work, then you have the Democrat base right there. Explains why that Cortez moron got elected, and why people still think Hillary won the election.

Ask if President Emmerson Mnangagwa has power 24 hours a day and is lacking anything.

Let Zimbabwe be an example to the rest of the world.

This is not a new phenomenon for Zimbabwe. We have friends who escaped from Mugabe's hell-hole about 15 years ago and rolling blackouts were normal then. Or, to be more precise, total blackouts of areas based on the time of day.

----------------

Not to be outdone, it looks like PG&E could be following in Zimbabwe's footsteps soon in rural areas. Their excuse is that the unfettered tree growth is a hazard should their electrical lines be compromised and send a spark towards the underbrush. Sort of like what happened last year in Paradise, CA.

The Federal Reserve may be a criminal enterprise. Maybe.

The US Federal Reserve claims that economic growth causes inflation. Real world examples prove otherwise.

In attacking the U.S. Federal Reserve's (alleged) claim, you are guilty of the Straw Man Fallacy, with an implicit "Post hoc, ergo propter hoc" Fallacy, to boot.

Namely: From the claim (whether true or untrue) that economic growth causes inflation, it does not necessarily follow that inflation is always preceded by economic growth.

Economic growth could, in fact, be merely a sufficient, but not necessary cause of inflation.

Regards,

Which California will have this summer, unless the state refuses to allow the electric utility to cut power to fire prone areas on the windiest days, so it won’t be blamed - and sued - for wild fires sparked by downed live power lines.

That utility - PG&E - is in a damned if they do, damned if they don’t position. They can chose to be blamed for circumstances obtained by intentional power outages, or be sued, for sure, when a wild fire occurs when winds down a live line in a fire prone area this fire season.
