Bill Nye wants to remind you of the seriousness of global warming and he's not mincing words.
The well known science commentator appeared on "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" on Sunday and put things bluntly while talking about the Green New Deal, introduced by Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Ed Markey.
Nye wants you to know, "The planet's on [expletive] fire."
"By the end of this century, if emissions keep rising, the average temperature on Earth could go up another four to eight degrees," Nye said. "What I'm saying is the planet's on [expletive] fire. There are a lot of things we could do to put it out -- are any of them free? No, of course not. Nothing's free, you idiots. Grow the [expletive] up. You're not children anymore. I didn't mind explaining photosynthesis to you when you were 12. But you're adults now, and this is an actually crisis, got it? Safety glasses off, [expletive]."

When those “environmentally conscious” celebs and politicians stop inhabiting 5,000-sq.ft. mansions, flying in private aircraft and riding in limousines, then we might take their squawking more seriously.
Maybe Bill the fake science guy might placate Mother Earth by jumping into a volcano.
Mr. Nye has a BS in Engineering. That probably makes him a moderately bright fellow, Cornell is (or at least, was) a decent engineering school back in the day.
However, I too have a BS in Engineering. Makes me equally qualified.
In fact, perhaps a bit more so as I didn't make a career out of mugging for a camera on a kid's TV show, and then spend the last 20 years (show was cancelled in 1999, I looked) trading on that exhausted social status.
Earth on fire, indeed. 1000 years ago, the earth was warmer than it is today. In dinosaur days, it was 12 degrees warmer. Get back to us when we pass those limits.
Peak Oil came and went. We ran out of oil years ago... use horses to get around today.
Millions died of skin cancer caused by the Massive Hole in the Ozone ... it kept getting larger just like the ‘scientists’ said it would... We hide in our homes day - afraid to go outside.
Global Freezing killed hundreds of millions too... Glaciers down to New York last I heard.
Early global warming had much of Manhattan Island underwater by 2010... guess millions drowned...
The Population Bomb was the worst - with massive starvation around the world by 2000...
So we all need to grow up 'cause this time the ‘chicken littles’ are telling the truth - unlike the other 50 times when they were just plain old nuts.
He is carefully protected by the media from such questions.
I'll take they're squawking seriously when they start selling their seaside mansions...
Wonder when we will hear he has cancer or some kind of organ failure.
Meanwhile Climate is the summation of worldwide weather over time so these pathetic models have to nail the weather everywhere and sum it up over a years time.

It’s way too wet in my part of the world for it to be on fire.
Right now I’m experiencing the coolest spring I have ever seen here in El Paso. Usually the temperatures are at least 15 degrees higher. Today’s high is only 74. Sometimes we have seen triple digits in May.
