Alright, thats it! I cant take it anymore. The Game of Thrones hype has gone too far when the Red Cross is camping out in local churches and offering commemorative posters to its congregants for donating blood. Seriously? Come on, people. Game of Thrones isnt even thinly veiled porn, its just porn. Full stop.
Stop telling me how good the story is; you sound dumber than those guys who claim to read Playboy for the articles. Just admit what everyone knows: Game of Thrones is porn and you like it. I have no idea how anyone watches this show with their significant other without complete and total embarrassment. I tried watching the first season and called it quits during a midget orgy.

I wish they'd added Romney's and McCain's.
Its the dwarfs and Fairies that make it wrong.
The acting is very good. Coming from another cast, A list B list, doesn’t matter, the series would be cornball.
The did a great job casting, Made the careers for many actors and technical staff.
Just last night I recommended that my 79-year old father watch GoT, or buy the series on disc when it comes out so he can enjoy it on his 4K TV. I did forewarn him about the nudity, but assured him that the story line is good and some of the location visuals are remarkable.
From what I can tell GOT is actually a bit on the mild side.
My preference would have been to do exactly that. Take out all the sex and stay with the story.
I started reading the books in 1997, and have watched every episode of the show. I'm far from a prude, but I've never been into porn - written or visual. I actively dislike it. Seeing other dudes naked is not my thing, even if there are naked women as well.
Point is...I've watched that show despite the sex scenes, not because of them. The writer's assumption that everyone else likes porn, and that's why they watch the show, is simply ridiculous. As is almost every other statement about what "everyone else" thinks or enjoys.
Megan Fox? Not the actress Megan Fox I was thinking about.
You might want to review history and when/where human life has been valued. We are so civilized that we kill 3,000 pre-born babies a day.
I don’t understand, why the need to insult me, and what your comments have to do with anything I was saying. Have a good day.
GoT is the perfect show for the modern, high-definition massive screen home theater. And it's entertaining! I'm re-watching the series from the beginning and now that I know who the main characters are and what happens to them, I'm catching so many little details that I missed the first time. It's just as enjoyable the second time around.
GoT has raised the bar as to the quality of the programming that viewers now expect to be delivered to their home theaters. In doing so, it set the standard of the medium.
Got a real simple solution for the author: Change the channel.
Problem solved.
I don’t buy into the middle earth comparison either. Both shows the Authors were envisioning different story lines.
Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings was written in a different voice then Game of Thrones. Meaning that Tolkien faced the same problem, I.E gods and deities and general belief in them. He just used a unique way to deal with it. He ignored it and wrote around it.
Just watched a show called The Good PLace. No porn. Adult show Very good.
Megan obviously doesn’t know what actual porn is:-)
I watched the first episode of Season 1, found it was all about gratuitous sex and needless violence, never watched a minute of it again.
Is there a difference between gratuitous sex and porn?
Also watching a show called Lucifer, I must say it has playful suggestivenss, but everyone is dressed and no one is simulating a sex act. The theme is adult and about good and evil.
Sorry Dilbert. I generally like you and love reading your post so I didn’t intend on insulting you. I’m just infuriated by the topic and you got caught up in it.
BTW: I haven’t checked Playboy since they pushed that idea of no nudity in playboy anymore, but it was advertised and written about for several months before the first issue came out under the new guidelines. I do no know if they switched back, it’s only been half a year or so.
“Just last night I recommended that my 79-year old father watch GoT...I did forewarn him about the nudity...”
Ah. Hoping to inherit something soon? And what would Hercule Poirot think of your diabolical plot?
