The Flyers are scrubbing connections with famed singer Kate Smith as the team investigates racist lyrics in several of her songs. That includes covering a bronze statue of Smith that stands outside Xfinity Live! and removing her iconic recording of God Bless America from their playlist.
We have recently become aware that several songs performed by Kate Smith contain offensive lyrics that do not reflect our values as an organization, the Flyers said in a statement. "As we continue to look into this serious matter, we are removing Kate Smiths recording of 'God Bless America from our library and covering up the statue that stands outside of our arena.

I actually went to the theater with a black friend to see Blazing Saddles when it came out.
he thought it was hilarious because Sheriff Bart always made the white guys look like idiots
WTF?!
It was the THIRTIES and those were the pop culture songs of the days.
Wonder when these handwringers will go after misogynistic rappers. Or go after the gang bangers and violence in Obamas Chicago.
One of the funniest movies I’ve seen.
I think Mel Brooks himself has said that he could never make that movie today.
I follow the Flyers as little as possible, but I think I recall that they just traded away the one black player they had - Simpson, Simmons, somebody - that seems sort of racist to me......
"You're F____!"
Wait, we in philly have a hockey team?
So what are the songs?

Paul Robeson also recorded this song. It is satirical social commentary on the racial situation, not advocating for racism. What was common parlance then, has been retroactively criminalized now. Paul Robeson is NOT purged for singing the exact same words though.

This was a children’s lullaby, dedicated to black children in a New York orphanage.
Looking at the IMDB entry for that movie, I count three Jews (Mel Brooks, Andrew Bergman, and Norman Steinberg) and one black (Richard Pryor) among the writers for that movie. But we know that the snowflakes would likely have that very little tolerance for that movie.

Paul Robeson also doesn’t get banned for supporting the mass-murdering Joe Stalin.
“There is no escape from liberal fascism.”
That’s correct. Proceed accordingly.

Or after their oddly "leftist-allies" -- the baby-making (but women-hiding), wife-beating, bomb-making, Islamic-loons.
Cultural genocide. They want to wipe out all references to western culture. They used charges such as “racist” or “homophobic” to scrub our history of anyone they do not approve of (which is any white christian).
The goal of the left is to delegitimize every aspect of American history before the civil rights movement.
That's why nearly every day someone finds some alleged racist aspect of American history which they insist must be exposed, denounced, and obliterated.
Pre-civil rights monuments, songs, traditions, laws et. al. have to be eliminated.
There mission is Search and Destroy.
Watched Blazing Saddles the other day.
Political Correctness, no matter how much we may mock it, has us by the throat and we attempt to shake it off at our peril. I wonder when Del Mar Race Track in San Diego will have to drop Bing?
“Pickaninny Heaven”. That has to rank right up there with “Gansta’s Paradise”.
