nevertheless, PDJT was correct and should have fired the whole pile of them right at the start when it became evident it was a witch-hunt

The only crime Mr. Trump is guilty of, it seems to me, is in his selection of attorneys — if this is even true.

If that is something Trump really wanted then why didn’t he have McGahn’s replacement or another of his lawyer’s do it?

I call #MuellerBS on this.

What’s ironic is that firing Mueller would have been an idiotic move politically, but Mueller’s report is basically an admission that he never should have been hired in the first place.

They may wish they had been fired or resigned when criminal scrutiny comes to their leaks and lies.

So, in June 2017, Trump spouts off that "Mueller has to go." McGahn interprets that as an order to fire Mueller and packs up his office to resign. Trump rescinds the "order" if it ever was that and McGahn spends another almost year and a half in the White House and then goes back into private practice.

What a nothingburger! But, Chris Matthews will spit and foam at the mouth and CNN will convene a half dozen "panels" to explain how this is a capital crime that Mueller somehow missed.

Clue: The White House Counsel CANNOT “fire Mulehead.” Doesn’t anyone bother to look at this stuff?

Priebus resigned on July 27, 2017 as chief of staff. The article mentions 2018 as being the hear the story was reported.

Does not pass the smell test.

This makes no sense. He fires Mueller but the buck stops with the President anyway. So he’s fired. You obstructed justice Mr. President! Uh no I didn’t. Well, well you fired him. Ok next. Now in retrospect it’s confirmed there was no collusion, or conspiracy or anything else with the big bad Russians. So he fired the goof who headed what turned out found it to be an empty claim. The Dems have created a three ring circus.

Trump simply needs to apologize for not hiring better people, not firing everyone early on. He trusted the wrong people.

The fact remains that Trump could have had Mueller fired even after McGahn quit but did not. End of story.

The Office of Counsel to the President was created in 1943, and is responsible for advising on all legal aspects of policy questions, legal issues arising in connection with the President's decision to sign or veto legislation, ethical questions, financial disclosures, and conflicts of interest during employment and post employment. The Counsel's Office also helps define the line between official and political activities, oversees executive appointments and judicial selection, handles Presidential pardons, reviews legislation and Presidential statements, and handles lawsuits against the President in his role as President, as well as serving as the White House contact for the Department of Justice.

It is NOT the job of the White House Counsel to tell the Acting Attorney General to fire anyone. He or she is not in the chain of authority to do so. The role of the White House Counsel is advisory only.
