Roy Moore, the Republican iconoclast accused of sexual misconduct, is leading among Republican voters in a new poll on the upcoming Alabama Senate race. Moore narrowly lost a special election to fill former Attorney General Jeff Sessions' seat amid allegations from several women that he had touched or kissed them inappropriately when they were teenagers, and he was an adult.

A poll by Mason-Dixon Polling and Strategy published Tuesday found that 27 percent of Republicans polled would support Roy Moore's candidacy in the 2020 election. Reps. Mo Brooks, Bradley Byrne and Gary Palmer trail behind Moore with support in the teens, while Del Marsh and Tim James were under ten percent. Moore's support was highest among women, 31 percent of whom said they would support Moore.

In 2017 Mo Brooks made the colossal blunder of announcing that he wouldn’t support McConnell as Senate majority leader. It’s one thing to say that when a guy is facing a leadership challenge, but there wasn’t a single Republican senator mounting a bid to challenge McConnell. To be honest, Brooks (and later Moore) came across as politically inept on this particular point.

It would be great if current WH advisor Stephen Miller (former aide to Sessions) would consider taking up the challenge to reclaim this Senate seat.

He would have the opportunity to introduce immigration reform policies from the Senate chamber.

Roy Moore was the victim of the Deep State smear machine. Many conservatives still believe nonsense about him because the machine is so effective.

Sean Hannity is not part of the Deep State smear machine and it was on Hannity's show where Moore sank his own campaign.

I sure hope you are right about Mo Brooks. However he did not do so well last go around much to my dismay. I supported Mo in the primary.

It seems to be a tad early for this however the poll could possibly be correct. I know that seems awfully hard to believe.

But some people around here might have been so disgusted with Doug Jones’ win and outside interference that they would like to shove Roy Moore in the nation’s collective face. I never preferred Moore and think Mo would be better. But there is no doubt that a Moore win would be Alabama flipping the bird at the world.

So Point 1. Mo Brooks, LIKE Trump was telling his voters what he would do.

Point 2. It certainly is possible that Neither Mo Brooks, nor the Judge are smart enough to go up against the Turtle.

Point 3. I recall that Ted Cruz went up against the Turtle, but Ted Cruz is possible the Smartest Senator and VERY good Presidential Material

Sheriff Joe Arpaio was a good example of that.
He lingered way too long past when he was most useful.
His last campaign was an exercise in vanity, and not productive to the party.

I would nominate Roy Moore for the Appellate Court. Brooks needs to be the Senate candidate. And I say this as someone who admires Judge Roy Moore. I wish there were 100 Roy Moores in the Senate.

Yes, even though I liked Joe he was past where he needed to be and needed to leave it to another. I sometimes think these guys have to take one last shot when in fact they need to be wise enough to stand aside when there is an appropriate candidate to take there place.

I like the fact Trump waited until his later years to run for office for the first time. That was smart of him to do though he had mentioned many times throughout his life that desire.

**************************************
No way...he’s 72 years old. Let’s save the Circuit Court Appeals Court seats for YOUNG Trump nominees who will be on the bench for DECADES.

Whether judge Moore dated teen ggirls or not doesn’t matter. In the narrative he did, and sadly he is as dead as a cat on the road.

In 2017 on Dec. 9 was the Army/Navy game. On Dec. 12, 2017
was the election for Senator in AL to fill the remainder of
Jeff Sessions term after being appointed US Attorney General.

Guess where Roy Moore the GOP Candidate for Senator was on
the Saturday before the Election on Tuesday? He was at the game
with his son who had gotten an appointment to Army.

If he had spent the last ten days of the campaign traveling
around AL he may have won. He lost by 21,924 votes (1.7%).
But he didn’t and basically gave up on the campaign, imo.
