Gillette is making waves with a photo it tweeted of an obese woman posing on a beach in a bikini, with her curves and cellulite on full display.
The razor maker last week posted the image of Anna O'Brien, a plus-size fashion, fitness and lifestyle blogger, under its @GilletteVenus handle, captioning it, "Go out there and slay the day." Some Twitter users said the ad glamorizies obesity and that Gillette is "irresponsibly" promoting an unhealthy lifestyle for profit.
"This woman will die of heat disease before @potus completes his second term. I hope she's just as happy and carefree for her last 6 years of life. Everybody should live themselves, but lets not call it healthy," one twitter user wrote.
Some commenters defended O'Brien while keeping their aim focused on Gillette. "There's no reason to be rude or unkind to someone who is obese and there is no reason @GilletteVenus should be encouraging life threatening obesity. This would also be true if they used an anorexic model. I wish the model they used well but Gillette should know better," @robbystarbuck said.

Thanks. Based on your reminder I just ordered some razors from Dorco too. I used to get razors from Harry's. This forum topic reminded me I need to get more razors.
I’m guessing her entire massive grocery bill is being used as a tax write-off.
Those are nice, large... clouds. Behind her. That is, the ones that aren’t obscured by her massive thighs.
It’s enough to make me try Harry’s or Shave of the Month Club.
Thanks!!!
I’m a prude...lol!!
good lord. celebrate unhealthiness. its mandatory.
“Being not perfect in looks is no reason to hide.”
Age, injury, and illness have turned a razor-thin, lightning-fast athlete into a barely ambulatory, obese wreck. Women used to look at me and smile; now, if anything, they’re just relieved that I have all that devastated acreage properly covered and hidden from view.
That’s just how it is, and that’s how it should be. People should not have a sight like that forced upon them, and I take care to ensure that I do not do my fellow citizens that discourtesy. It’s only right.
“I am very disappointed at all the hatefulness and ugliness of spirit I am reading here.”
Oh, butch up, candypants. Grotesque obesity is repellent, and you cannot shame, legislate, or terrorize any other state of affairs into being. I don’t try to require anyone to think of my fat self as beautiful. The mere attempt would be grossly unjust.
“Just because a fat lady is having fun on the beach.”
I guarantee that people would regard her more kindly if she were having that fun underneath a muu muu.
“Getting a little exercise and happiness. Which is truly important to the health of your mind, body, and spirit.”
Unless she has medical problems I don’t know about, I guarantee you I could have her down to an appropriate weight in two years, without major discomfort from either dieting or exercise.
“Sweet Jesus.”
Do you really think Jesus approves of women showing that much skin in public, regardless of beauty?
LOL!!
What is seen cannot be unseen.
Pass the eye-bleach, please.
Yet somehow appropriate.
Ill bet she has a good personality.
And has a sexy phone voice.
Could be Jerry Nadlers wife??
Hahahahahaha!!! Good one! Would sure explain his pissattitude.
Yes, and the reason she’s trying to escape is because the fat broad ATE HER!
CC
Doesn’t ring a bell.
I applaud your open-mindedness, but heart disease and diabetes are going to bankrupt any healthcare system we have once a certain percentage of our population decides that being obese is okay.
They know that conservatives wont buy Gillette any more, so theyre trying to find a new target demographic. It might take 3 razors for her to do her pits and bikini area, so why not.
be like boning a waterbed
