Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Praises the Washington, D.C. Metro

On Sunday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) praised the Washington, D.C. Metro, apparently oblivious to the fires and horrific management problems the Metro faces.

"DC Metro is pretty good, especially when compared to the MTA lately," Ocasio-Cortez said in a Facebook "moment," contrasting the D.C. Metro to the New York subway. "It's clear they are investing in public infrastructure w/modernized train cars, etc."

She responded to criticism shortly afterward. "Lots of folks begging to differ on DC metro being better," the congresswoman added. "I just got here so taking the train on a Sunday without a delay or track change or 1000 people in the car seems like a minor miracle to me."

So she takes the Metro on Sunday the quietest day of the week and claims what a great system it is. That tells me most the time she is driving around DC. Mass transit is for the peasants.

This dumb bunny gets it wrong every time. Unless there is a major event on a Sunday, there are no crowds of “a thousand” on a NYC subway car. A thousand people couldn’t fit in a subway car. Subways are quiet on Sunday. Just as I’m sure the DC Metro is.

I’ve ridden Metro on some visits to Washington. As a tourist or occasional rider, you may not take note of some major problems.

A friend of the family lives there, and she used to take Metro to work. Between the costs of riding and the aggravation, she decided to buy a small car for commuting. She figured the additional cost of the car was not much more than the cost of riding Metro.

She told us the aggravation of being in rush hour traffic in a car is more tolerable, than the aggravation of being packed in a subway car.

That's insane. Mass transit is probably the best way to cut down on negative environmental impacts. Even when it's less than perfect, it has advantages over fighting against huge semis for a lane on an interstate.

In Jan and Nov lasts year, I did round trips Cleveland-DC-Baltimore on AMTRAK. I found the DC station to be very well run, very clean, and with a lot of food/shopping options. It was local trains connecting DC and Baltimore. Four times doing that route, no problems, no delays, all four trips on weekdays.

Wasn’t she seen in her New York neighborhood being picked up by a chauffeured SUV? Besides being packed into a filthy Metro with the sweating masses might soil her designer clothes and Gucci shoes.

I was referring to more AOCs apparent lack of usage of the DC Metro,

Ah, but your are talking about FACTS! Facts are not what matter, but rather being “morally correct”.

Alexandria does her best communicating with Interpretive Dance.

“What’s she saying with all that shaking, Bob?”

“Well, she’s either saying that Pelosi is mean, or she lost her subway token and she’s trying to shake it loose.”

Automobiles are mass transit.

And back when privately owned, there used to be first class cars on some urban-type railroads.

Metro is dirty, broken escalators everywhere, and a snow-storm stops operation. If the train stalls in a tunnel, the riders are screwed.

That's pretty funny. But in reality (and I'm definitely NOT being supportive of AOC), in case you didn't know, that dance she did was from the movie, "The Breakfast Club". If you haven't seen it, you should. It was really good.

The obsession with this moron is baffling to me.

What the left usually does is push someone out front where that person gets all the attention, while they are scheming in the back.

This happened during the onset of Roe V. Wade. They pushed the women out front making them feel all happy and free, while the men were scheming in the back.

Another example is Beto. He is called to a private meeting with Obama and Valerie Jarrett after he loses to Ted Cruz. Now he is out making himself known nationally. One could safely surmise that Obummer and ValJar are preparing for another deep White House connection with Beto as their stooge.

The question should be what is the deep state doing while AOC and Beto are flapping their lips?
