Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has been getting a lot of attention since being sworn in to Congress earlier this year, but her constituents arent all that thrilled with their 29-year-old congresswoman, according to a story published in the New York Post over the weekend.
I thought AOC would be our savior, but thats not the case, Roxanne Delgado, a local activist told the Post.
Delgado has reportedly been trying for months to get in touch with Ocasio-Cortez about saving an animal shelter and cleaning up parks in the district.
According to the Post, Delgado has made numerous calls to Ocasio-Cortezs offices in Washington and Queens and sent a barrage of tweets after the freshman lawmaker encouraged residents during a recent visit to a Bronx public library to hit her up on social media.
But Delgado has not heard anything from Ocasio-Cortezs office.
Delgado is not the only constituent who is upset with the lack of representation from Ocasio-Cortez.
I want AOC or a representative from AOC to be there, Anthony Vitaliano, a former cop and Community Board 11 member said at a Feb. 28 board meeting according to the Post. You know, I appreciate what shes doing, but she has to represent us.
She has to address these local issues. Her district is everywhere else in the US. Her heart is not in The Bronx, Vitaliano told the Post.
This lack of response from Ocasio-Cortezs office is very different from what constituents received under former Rep. Joe Crowley, according to the Post:
By contrast, he said, residents needs received much more attention under Rep. Joe Crowley, whom Ocasio-Cortez unseated in a surprise primary upset last year.
The longtime congressmans Bronx district representative, Thomas Messina, regularly attended community board meetings, according to Vitaliano.
Tommy cared about us, Vitaliano said.
The Post noted that Ocasio-Cortez has yet to open an office in the Bronx, which makes access all the more challenging for her constituents.
If you look at most congresscritters now, few of them are there for their constituents. Most are there to either line their own pockets or to perpetuate their party’s interests.
her heart is in Havana, Communist Cuba
and her mind (such as it is) belongs in the insane asylum
this is what they get for electing such a crazed idiot
“We’re sorry. The Congresswoman is out today facilitating islam. Send us your concerns by mail or email, and we’ll make every effort to ignore them as well.”
No truer words.......
Local politicians help with local issues. Idiots. If you elected her for local issues, that just means you were trying to force me, in Alaska, to pay for your crap in NYC. Pound sand!
and her mind (such as it is) belongs in the insane asylum
this is what they get for electing such a crazed idiot"

She would make a very mediocre stripper................
It’s in a Box under her bed
You're right. Those are local government issues.
But that didn't stop her from inserting her nasty self into the local and state government Amazon issue.
Did you ever hear any Black Lives Matter mouthpiece say that the African slaves were first brought to America by the Latinos?
Has AOC ever acknowledged that her ancestors were the FIRST SLAVE OWNERS IN AMERICA?
Better question. Does AOC even know that the Latinos were the first owners of Black African slaves in North America?
Q: What is the most permanent feature of socialism?
A: Temporary shortages
Tommy cared about us, Vitaliano said.”
Who cares about the Bronx?
