Anyone watching the History Channel series?
It is impossible for the world to recognize Christ, let alone acknowledge Him, and who he really is.
I was hoping for some spiritual uplifting. Instead Im glad I didnt ask my grandson to join me.
is that the one Joel Ostein was making?
Yes
Good Grief.
If it’s impossible for the world to recognize Christ, and the other statements in the rest of your sentence are true, then no one would believe. Could believe. We wouldn’t know him.
Acknowledge: To recognize the existence of..
So you’re saying we don’t recognize the existence of Christ!??!.
Here’s where you’ll get “deep” and spout more things that make no sense :)
And it’s impossible to know who he is? I’ll let you in on a little secret. He’s the Son of God.
He came just so we COULD acknowledge him, know who he really is, and recognize him. Look it all up in the New Testament.
If you’re going to pontificate, at least make sense.
History (Channel) is owned by A&E Networks, a joint venture between Hearst Communications and the Walt Disney Television division of the Walt Disney Company.
The "Mouse House" has gone all-in on LGBTQ.
Recall that during March 2019, A&E broadcast its biographies/ hit jobs on Donald Trump and Roger Ailes.
The old joke was that it should be re-named "The Hitler Channel" because of all the documentaries on Nazi Germany. Ever notice how they never show any documentaries on Lenin, Stalin, Mao, or Fidel?
Why would I watch this series on The Bible?
Sadly, misinformation galore was presented. Only one of the speakers seemed to understand most of what the actual Bible says and means about Jesus’ life. How could Jesus not know why He was here? That was the most jarring of all. Jesus knew Who His Father was when He was in the Temple at the age of 12. He wasn’t wandering around at 30 wondering what to do and whom to follow.
So, if Joel Osteen is behind this, I presume Jesus lives in His own mansion and transports Himself in His own personal learjet.
Olstean was a good indicator of where this would be headed. Too bad Chuck Missler didnt do one of these...
I wouldn’t watch “history” channel’s “history” on anything.
They’re basically revisionists.
I agree.
It’s like when Peter Jennings did a special on Jerusalem.
Good gosh.
I can’t believe all the negativity on this thread.
I am looking forward to this; I didn’t know it had started already. If I find it is slanted, I will just change the channel. But something tells me the execs know their audience and which side their bread is
buttered on.
My all-time favorite Easter movie is The Passion, by Mel Gibson.
The used to be a great channel some 20 years ago. Now, this is the channel that presents “Ancient Aliens” as a real documentary.
I would expect them to show “experts” “debunking” Christian “mythology.”
For challenges like this, I’d expect a respectable source that dated the census (or census announcement) after Jesus’ birth. My impression is that this assertion came from much later non-Christian Jewish records. If anything came square at the Pharisees and challenged their status and authority — it was Jesus.
This show might be in the vein of “What do various people say about Jesus.” And you’re going to hear answers ranging from “He is a bunkum story” to “He is really, truly, and demonstrated my personal Savior and that of all who believe.”
Im guessing its opined by non Christians
Sensation and controversy sells.
