Today’s Cryptogram

CWQGQ XV MK ERQBVOGQ

NKGCW PKGDKXMD IOVC

PKG BM QTCGB CWGQQ

AQBGV XM CWQ DQGXBCGXY NBGJ. –IKWM SKGCXSQG

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter.

For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles. Puzzle solvers love to hear if you found the CG challenging or easy.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: brain; cryptogram; puzzle; todayscryptogram
If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under 2 "you're a pro!"

Those of you looking for an added challenge can try to solve one sentence or even one word at a time, i.e. solve the entire first line, then go to the second line etc.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

Solution to our last puzzle:

I’M ON A GRAPEFRUIT DIET. I EAT EVERYTHING BUT GRAPEFRUITS. CHI CHI RODRIGUEZ

This comes from the Arkansas Gazette. It was a tough one for many of you, esp me. I'm a golfer and should have picked up on "Chi Chi Rodriguez."

Starts with that first word. ABCDC sequence then it opens up the puzzle like cutting thru a ripe pineapple.

Yesterday’s was a tough one. The only name I could think of was Zsa Zsa.

Today’s crypto took under 3 minutes with only one tiny false start. I tend to look for the ABC word first. Found it and it was smooth sailing from then on. Nice :)

Very true! Harder this am 5 min. The first name came in early, after basing the “e” on numerical grounds, next filled in a 3 and a five letter from the “e’s” and working out two two letter words.

Here it is folks, the latest bonus cryptogram. Intended to tickle a funny bone, the bonus quote may be from a movie, comedian, or other entertainer.

Unlike nikos big puzzle where no spoilers are desired, the bonus is a race to solve, bragging rights to the winner, but to win solutions must be posted in the form of a pic, gif, or meme that undeniably demonstrates you found the solution.😂

Here’s today’s. Ready, set, GO!

O ZDYIS ZIJ... VF... UPXZ, OY--OY..YZI L--, OY--LGDUI...LGDUIV...LGDUIV FT YZI VOSI FL UW LDXI, RJIDYZOTM, RJIDYZ... ZIDKOTM, RJIDYZV... ZIDKOTM... UJV. EZOYI

Got it as fast as I could type it. I guessed at the 11th word with the double-Q, which got me the first word, which led to the second and third words, and it flowed from there.

Yep. I identified the first three words on sight, and blazed through the rest in 2 minutes. And I agree with the sentiment, in theory, but as I get older, I think sugar is deadly enough to make a 10 year difference.
