Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he expects his chamber will have the votes to pass a resolution blocking President Trumps national emergency declaration, but an effort to override a presidential veto will fail in the House. I think what is clear in the Senate is that there will be enough votes to pass the resolution of disapproval, which will then be vetoed by the president and then in all likelihood the veto will be upheld in the House, McConnell said Monday. He said the Senate vote would happen before the lawmakers go on a one-week recess March 15.

Shit like this is why I left the Republican party back in 2010.
Great line there, Cletus!
Consider it stolen.
It better not be a voice vote, I want to see how the scumbags vote. We need sunshine.
The 17 Republicans who voted against Trumps National Emergency Declaration
The Senate vote hasn’t happened yet.
Thank you traitors, we will then have a clear conscience to vote you all out. It is way past time to start finding great opponents to primary these arrogant a holes.
“If the GOP wants to commit suicide I wont shed a tear for them.”
Actually, this is great strategy by Trump. Forces everyone to go on record with overriding the veto. What we have to look at first is who is up for reelection?
Why is McConnell allowing this to come to the floor? Doesn’t he control what comes up for a vote? Someone explain this to me, from a perspective other than McConnell is a swamp creature.
That list can’t be accurate. The vote has not taken place yet, and I don’t see cory gardner on it. I guarantee that gardner votes against Trump. He is up for re-election where he has no chance of winning again.
Trump isnt going to veto this resolution that disapproves his own emergency order?
Its yours!
Use it in good times and in bad!
Lamar! isn’t on the list? Curious!
A Senator's word is his currency in Washington. McConnell the deal-maker may be about to crash his bank account.

The Senate has yet to vote, but four Rs have committed to vote yes, with all of the Ds
Everything else needs 60 votes. This is all about illegals and drugs.
Yep. Sounds like they don’t expect the House to override.
Still annoying re: Rand Paul. His disapproval, if any, should be with the 1976 law—not Trump’s using it for this very important sovereignty and security issue.
Through some sort of voodoo, that never has worked before, the House included language that supposedly forces the Senate to have to vote within a week.
The title of the article is intended to damage Trump, but the first sentence makes it clear that the Senate vote is only symbolic, so big deal.
If he vetoes, the venue switches to the 9th Circuit.
Can’t get anything done that way either.
Another shutdown. Another showdown.
McConnell will vote yeah, unless he votes no for parliamentary reasons. The four Republicans are the usual suspects except for Tillis.
