Just curious as to how many people on FR have been banned by Breitbart. I've listened to their morning radio show on Patriot for years, but only visited their site maybe twice a week on average and commented even less frequently. I went to their web site this morning and found out that I'm banned and ALL of my posts ever were removed from their site.
I initially thought I was banned for flaming a liberal troll (they have a LOT of them) or for questioning Obama's sexuality and "Michelle's" real gender, but it appears that I was banned for criticizing their Editor in Chief, Alex Marlowe (Mr. Dr. Marlowe, who reminds listeners frequently of the fact that his wife is a doctor) and Breitbarts decision to part ways with Raheem Kassam, who was the best host theyve ever had. I believe I also made mention of the fact that his "LA roots were showing".
Its kind of ironic that Marlowe has criticized Twitter, Google, Facebook, etc., for banning conservatives and refers to them as the Masters of the Universe while he and what was Andrew Breitbarts network are doing the same thing.
I read there at least once a day, but I find the comments to be, ah, somewhat over the top, which is something coming from me, because my comments are over the top often.
But I don’t post there, never have never will. Pointless. And I also assume that I would be banned in short order anyway.
This site has been pretty lenient with me, and actually lets me get by with a lot, cuz I can get a little crazy from time to time, so I’m thankful for that.
That’s an interesting question and I wondered the same thing, so I went to my Disqus account, where they still reside, and looked. My comments on Breitbart were the only ones deleted - every single one of them, including:
“Fred Rogers was a nice guy, but no, he wasn’t a SEAL, a Ranger, a Recon Marine, etc. Just a nice guy.”
...
“Finally! An ignorant progressive steps in and shows his/her abject stupidity.
Senator Robert C. Byrd, Senator Al Gore, Sr., Senator J. William Fulbright, etc., filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act and it was only passed because the vast majority of Republicans voted FOR it. Senator Robert C. Byrd, former Grand Kleegle of the KKK in West Virginia, whom Hillary called her “mentor” and the “conscience of the Senate”. Senator J. William Fulbright, Bill Clinton’s mentor.
And don’t get me started on Lyndon Baines Johnson...”
And, I suspect, the offending comment...
“I’m with you, Breitbart screwed up big time when they let Raheem Kassam go. With the exception of Andrew himself, Raheem was the best they’ve had; pulled no punches, took no prisoners. What conservatism does not need right now is equivocation and pretending that the arguments of the right and left are both valid. There is such a thing as objective truth. Dr. Marlowe’s husband (I’m tired of hearing that his wife’s a doctor) reveals his left-coast upbringing far too often.”
For those who claim that I was banned because I criticized them on their own media - which is probably true, that’s rather akin to kicking someone out of your restaurant for complaining about the service or the food. I run a $25 million-plus business unit and I provide a means for my clients to provide recommendations, criticism and general input and I do so for a reason. And, while I don’t relish criticism, I recognize the value of it. My job is to generate a profit and, should I refuse delivery of legitimate feedback from those who take advantage of my goods and services, I’m probably not long for my job.
Yes, I'm trying to convey that hint, but those I'm addressing aren't picking up on it.
I remember how — on a couple of occasions — Rush cut off callers who brought up matters relating to his ratings and to suggest ways he might improve his ratings book by what amounted to manipulation of his audience.
Rush dumped them immediately; in one case, he did so while saying "sorry, I just can't talk about that."
This was when his national show was pretty new, back in the early '90s.
Not banned but I bitterly resent their algorithm intercepting then deleting any of my posts that contain hints of naughty words. I quit them for that reason.
How do you know that it wasn't Raheem Kassam's decision to part ways with Breitbart?
Comment here on any and all Breitbart articles you want to.
You will never get banned or have comments deleted.
That’s why you should donate to Free Republic.
Maybe Marlow needs to go.
I have never been banned but their logorithims target all words saying Jewish or resembling it
If you write Jews are the greatest people the world has ever known or ever will
It will be held for review
Joel Pollack is super sensitive about this its his schtick
But paradoxically some blatant anti Jewish screeds survive there
Folks learn to skirt the identifiers but they catch up
Ive been scored on the Hill and banned on Reality Tea
Free Republic is the only online community I know of that considers self generated content to be 'vain'. I have never agreed with that posture, and think it's silly.
Carry on.
Tom are you bowing as you wrote that
I mean come on
LA roots may have been seen as anti Jewish
They are super super sensitive on that at Breitbart
Its ironic that they sort of feed the stereotype doing that
Lets face it they are the premier dissemination vehicle like ornaments or not
I liked it better under Bannon
How base.
WHAT? I think it’s been proved that Michelle is really “Michael”.
We KNOW Obama is GAY. Why would he have a female wife?
The MANY photos of Michael’s “protrusions” is proof enough.
Not to mention the fingers, the muscles, and masculine mannerisms.
Open your mind and allow the light to shine in.
Algorithms, daddy.
Logarithms are something else entirely.
“deleting any of my posts that contain hints of naughty words”
I have no problem with a site banning dirty words (naughty, explicit, whatever you want to call them).
Breitbart.... How about they get rid of their cheezee advertising, click bait nonsense hmmm? Makes the site almost unreadable and annoying.
Youre right
Thanks
Its algorithms
I was wrong
