People still don’t know that movie makers buy awards ?

They don’t understand that it has nothing to do with talent, good work or hard labor ? All of these awards are bought and sold at high prices. The academy is a small group of very, very rich people who literally put themselves out there to be bought to present this award.

Before we get to the top ten, though, here is a list of great actors and actresses who have surprisingly never won an Oscar for their work: Michael Keaton, Helena Bonham Carter, Liam Neeson, Patrick Stewart, Sigourney Weaver, Sam Neill, Albert Finney, William H. Macy, Annette Bening, Emily Watson, Donald Sutherland, Clint Eastwood, Joan Cusack, Brenda Blethyn, Ralph Fiennes.

Murray, Harris and Malkovich belong on that list. I don’t think any of the others do. I should say that I’m not familiar with Branagh’s work.

No one plays creepy quite like Willem Dafoe.

I really thought Dennis Quaid put in an Oscar-worthy performance last year in If I Can Only Imagine. Of course as that's a Christian film he had no prayer (to coin a phrase).

I see he is now out in a new film where he plays a psychopathic killer, so that's probably his opening.

I may be really old fashioned but the only movies I have seen and would nominate are those where I walked out of the theater with a smile on my face. I don’t consider Hollywood to be the Entertainment Capital of the World because I am seldom, if ever, entertained.
