Bill Murray is more beloved as a cultural icon than any of his acting roles. He’s more likely to earn a lifetime achievement award from the Academy than an acting Oscar.
And hasn’t Bill Murray mostly done silly comedy movies? It seems that Oscars tend to go to “serious dramatic” movies and actors/actresses in those roles.
LOL, I remember when Bill Murray did the Oscar Picks on SNL, he would basically take all the names off the board for the Best Supporting Actor/Actress and say, “Nobody really cares about these.”
I used to agree with you but Murray changed my mind with his role in St. Vincent. Great movie and Murray is outstanding.
