Yes, there is instruction on how ex military personnel can wear their ribbons and medals with civilian clothing. Just cannot cite the DoD directive that prescribes this.
I have no idea what you’re getting at. Why not just say what you think? We’ve already learned that you believe military members should be allowed to wear their medals however they see fit and anyone who disagrees is a leftist. Anything else?

As a General, he should always be aware of his uniform. I do believe he should receive a punishment. A regular grunt would be punished for such a thing.

This is something and junior grade officer learns like the back of his hand, or better. By the time they’re a Major they’ve memorized the medals and their order a dozen times over.
The general did this himself. He would have recognized it from across a room long before he put on the jacket.
I agree, but his aide (if he has one) will most likely be shown the door for not double checking his setup beforehand.

If he’s that senile that he doesn’t know his medals are being worn wrong, he needs to be retired immediately. If he did it in protest, he needs to be relieved of duty immediately. As in insubordination and insulting the CIC.

I don’t really care if this was an honest mistake, but evidently Gen. Mattis, Gen. Kelly, and Gen. McMasters thought nothing about talking against Trump behind his back. If this is a wink and nod, the general needs to be called out on it.

No, that’s not what I said. I said I had more important things to do than learn how to put all that crap on. If I had free time to read something, I chose to read about how to do my job of killing or not getting killed better.
I left the details of the dress blues to the REMFs.
