Oh, that kitchen is to die for! I really love those walk-in fireplaces. Big enough to have a big roaring fire to heat the whole house. Like an English manor. One house we looked at had a fireplace like that in the basement. Nothing else about the house met our requirements, but I was considering it just because of that. I’ve always wanted to cook over fireplace, have all those cast iron rods and stuff to hold my Dutch oven.

My fireplace is designed with that in mind 10’ wide goes all the way to ceiling. Mantel is hand hewn beam from another building. Instead of open fire it holds a wood burning heating stove Fire visible through door.

The insurance company came and took pictures to use to show others how to construct a safe place for wood heat. It’s surrounded by bricks with a stone floor. Nothing burnable close by.
