The Department of Justice (DOJ) is seriously considering adjusting existing policy to eliminate advance notice of a subpoena in media leak investigations, according to a senior DOJ official with direct knowledge.
Existing DOJ guidance requires advance notice to third parties related to a media leak investigations. Officials familiar with the policy characterize it as hindering investigators’ ability to discern the source of damaging national security leaks and say the lengthy timeline of notice to media organizations and others hinders the ability to conduct timely investigations.
The policy change has its roots in President Donald Trump’s directive to former Attorney General Jeff Sessions to crack down on national security leaks emanating from the DOJ. Sessions announced that the media subpoena policy would be placed under review in August 2017.
“We respect the important role that the press plays, and we’ll give them respect, but it is not unlimited,” Sessions said, adding, “They cannot place lives at risk with impunity. We must balance the press’ role with protecting our national security and the lives of those who serve in the intelligence community, the armed forces and all law-abiding Americans.”

President Donald Trump’s nominee for Attorney General, Bill Barr, said on Tuesday that he would not sacrifice the powers of the Attorney General’s office simply to secure his confirmation.
Barr’s comments came after Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono began questioning him about acting AG Matthew Whitaker during his confirmation hearing on Capitol Hill. Hirono asked why Barr wasn’t willing to emulate outgoing AG Jeff Sessions and recuse himself from the Mueller investigation.
“These are not normal times. This is not 27 years ago. Today the president is Donald Trump who will do anything to protect himself,” she said. “He wants you, who has written a manifesto about why the president shouldn’t be prosecuted at least for obstruction of justice, who has met with and consulted with the president’s defense attorneys, who have written op-eds defending his firings of Sally Yates and James Comey, to be his attorney general. So, in this context, just asking us to trust you is not enough.”
“The regulations and the responsibilities of the attorney general as the head of the agency, vest that responsibility in the attorney general, and I am not going to surrender the responsibilities of the attorney general to get the title. I don’t need the title,” he said. “If you don’t, if you don’t trust me to …”
Hirono then interrupted Barr and said he was being repetitious, before accusing him of failing to follow proper ethical guidelines.

President Trump hosted a border security meeting at the White House Tuesday afternoon.
In an effort to make progress on the government shutdown, Trump invited Republican and Democrat lawmakers to attend with ideas. Not a single Democrat showed up. Their leaders, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, were also missing.
“As Senator Schumer and Speaker Pelosi refuse to negotiate, President Donald J. Trump and his team are working hard to find solutions to solve the humanitarian and national security crisis at the border and reopen the government. First, I want to thank you for your response and attempting to explain the answer to my question. However, you must understand that I don’t know/understand zip about HTML, even though I have printed out and read HTML Sandbox several times. It’s a foreign language to me. Like Chinese almost.
I do know that preview is my friend, and I do normally use it before all but the shortest posts, and then I will use the < p > to make sure and put in paragraphs, because things are so hard to read without paragraphs.
I have then attempted with little success to also get a working linky, looking at the html instructions.
So between what you and ransomnote have given me, maybe next time I’ll be able to get both paragraphs and links.
Once I figure that out, maybe I’ll try again to figure out how to copy and post pics and emojis. Granny is slow, but she is also old, and tomorrow often forgets the HTML tips-that’s why I printed them.

At the time, around 2009-2014, there was a very large drug dealer trial in Chicago where the Sinaloa cartel defendant tried to assert that the Sinaloa cartel had pretty much been given carte blanche to buy guns and run drugs into the U.S. by the Obama administration in return for intelligence on other Mexican cartels. His testimony was banned.
During Brian Terry's murder trial, Federal prosecutors and the judge disallowed any testimony involving F&F.
El Chapo has also unsuccessfully tried to introduce Fast and Furious testimony in his current trial. Also objected to by Federal prosecutors.

The "Mexican War on Drugs" officially started in 2006, but goes back another couple decades. The traffickers supporting the cocaine and drug boom of the 80s and 90s started getting organized. Violently. They organized into cartels, and then fought their way to the top.
A prominent politician, Carlos Salinas was Presidente from '88-'94. He signed NAFTA with George H.W. Bush, and attended his recent funeral. He also is surmised to have risen to the Capo de tutti Capi of the cartels. Salinas is rumored to have been the one to select the cartel bosses.
Salinas remains a hugely wealthy man. He was and is backed by a number of players we now identify with cabal. He and his family siphoned hundreds of millions of dollars out of Mexico into overseas banks - and that was just the government oil and development money - doesn't count drug money. After his presidency, he went on to become the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (Wow - opportunities for global corruption there*). He self-exiled to Ireland where he may or may not still live.
*Note to self: must dig later on WTO and Clinton Foundation ties

Carlos Salinas has a son named Emiliano Salinas. Carlos and Emiliano are both Harvard grads. Emiliano is described as a venture capitalist, and is Vice President of Executive Success Programs or ESP. If that sounds familiar, it's because ESP is a NXIVM organization. NXIVM is the sex-trafficking cult with most of the leadership pending trial in Federal court in NY.
The current US Attorney for the Southern District of NY is Geoffrey Berman who was hired by POTUS last year to replace Preet Bhahara. Bhahara is associated with conspiring with Loretta Lynch to stifle any investigation into the Clinton emails or the Weiner laptop. Tied to all the NY Dem Heavy Hitters. Remember Q says to clean house before we can start prosecutions? Trump sure replaced the US Attorney for SDNY quick, didn't he?
All of the NXIVM leadership (Keith Raniere, Nancy and Lauren Salzman, Clare Bronfman, and Sara Bronfman-Igtet) are directly tied to the Clintons and/or Clinton Foundation, in addition to being on the fund-raiser circuit for dems in Albany, D.C. and around the country. Emiliano Salinas, being Keith Raniere's man in Mexico, could find himself indicted along with the other sewer dwellers. The question is if anyone will roll on him and the Mexico-NXIVM network? If so, Poppa Salinas would probably have them all killed. Their families. Maybe their neighbors.

The former top lawyer at the FBI has been under federal investigation for leaking to the media, a letter from House Republicans revealed Tuesday.
A source familiar with the U.S. Attorney investigation told Fox News they believe the investigation of Baker remains opens, adding they understand it began during the Obama administration and not in the course of the Russia investigation.
The transcript of the closed-door interview and the letter do not include details explaining why the investigation is being led out of the Connecticut office. The status of the investigation is not publicly known.
But the disclosure marks the latest confirmation of a leak investigation involving FBI figures who have since left the bureau.
I saw part of that with DiFiChiSpy - he was very good. The adult in the room as they say. Now let’s pray he’s a patriot too.

Check and see if this is the Mexican drug cartel that founded the black Muslim street gang that controlled the community that Obama Organized. If so, Noah Robinson (half brother of Jesse Robinson Jackson and relative of Michelle Robinson Obama ) is doing life for his involvement in the gang.
