anytime a clinton benefits I am immediately suspicious
He ****ed up big time...
All of a sudden ABC is bringing up lots of old gossip, as if everyone cared. Bobbit and Kenndys.
Why?
There are old pilots and there are bold pilots. Just no old, bold pilots.
Wow, what a good article!
All politics aside, Kennedy was a shi*ty pilot, period. Im a licensed pilot and I would NEVER have tried that schtick without an instrument ticket.
He was arrogant, cocky and thought his wealth could get him out of anything. It killed him and two others.
This Sepia-toned hero worship is a complete farce. Hes dead through his own jncompetenc and avarice.
Okay, but 310 hours is not chump change. I soloed under 50 and had my license well under 100. I was considered slow and overly cautious.
Didn’t believe his lying instruments.
Didnt see the special, but the guy clearly caused his own death as welll as everyone else on that plane, by over estimating he abilities.
And not sure why they would lie about weather conditions.
Yes his death was tragic, mainly because it was completely preventable...
Unfortunately you cant protect people from themselves.
The Kennedys should stay away from driving boats, airplanes and automobiles.
It's a shame he died so young, but I believe each successive generation of that Kennedy clan has gotten progressively dumber than the one before it.
I followed that incident as close as I could. I read several eyewitness acccounts right after the crash that there was a fourth passenger, a male, spotted in the right seat at takeoff.
Never get in a motorized vehicle with a Kennedy.
The odds are god that youll die.
If youre lucky you might just end up paralyzed.
Nothing to McCain
I was a flight instructor at the st lucie international airport at that time.
While not directly involved with his primary pilots certification, i did know him well, as his training was primarily in vero beach airport, 11 miles north.
Bluntly put, he was a poor pilot who didn’t take correction and guidance well
Few wanted to fly with him.
I was appalled when he bought an aircraft beyond what I considered his ability to control, and even more so when he took off in marginal VFR conditions in the evening and then flew at night - over water with no visible horizon while NOT IFR certified and with helpless passengers.
And people; that is how they all died...
Fact.
It was covered on “Why Planes Crash” season 2 episode 4.
As soon as I heard that it was flight at over water at dusk, I knew exactly what happened. The first report I read said that his flight instructor was with him. That made me wonder. But then when later reports said his instructor was not there, it made sense.
He got disoriented. Pretty much standard procedure for a low time, non-instrument trained pilot. There are few good visual references in an over-water flight at dusk. Conditions didn’t have to be bad.
Kennedys and the internal combustion engine have never played well together.
